Nothing, even though I paid in full ahead of time for the room. They said we arrived past their aloud check in time? There is no such thing posted on their website or anywhere in the hotel.

This was a very unique hotel. Unfortunately, we were just passing through Prince George, but I would love to go back just for this hotel. Absolutely gorgeous!

Top Tips
- Book downtown Prince George hotels 6-7 weeks ahead to save 15-30% on rates, especially from November to March when demand rises for medical travel and forestry work. For best availability, set a reminder for high-demand dates as local hospital and industrial visitors often fill rooms in advance.
- Hotels within 500 meters of Highway 16, such as Ramada by Wyndham or Super 8, cut commute times to the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and Prince George Regional Hospital by 18-22 minutes. Prioritize these for time savings when planning academic or medical trips, and verify local bus options if you do not have a car.
- When paying with a non-Canadian card at Prince George hotels, always select Canadian Dollars (CAD) to avoid dynamic currency conversion markups of 3-6%. Ask for a printed receipt to verify the currency applied.
- Hotel Wi-Fi in Prince George averages 8-12 Mbps download speeds; contact your hotel directly to confirm if you require higher speeds for remote work. For bandwidth over 50 Mbps, use the free TELUS Wi-Fi at the Central Branch Library; bring local ID or a passport for access.
- The Sandman Signature Prince George Hotel lists 6 accessible rooms with roll-in showers and visual alarms, verified for full mobility needs. Contact the front desk to reserve and confirm features, including step-free access.
- Prince George hotels do not add resort fees, so the quoted rate is the price before taxes, streamlining budgeting compared to Vancouver or Whistler. Double-check if there are any incidental holds at check-in.
- Expect an additional 7% tax on your base room rate: 5% federal GST and 2% Regional District of Fraser-Fort George tax. Review your final booking summary for a clear breakdown of these taxes.
- Major bank ATMs like RBC, CIBC, or TD charge non-network users $4.50-$5.50 CAD per withdrawal, while credit unions such as Vancity offer withdrawal fees of $3.00-$3.75 CAD. Take out larger amounts each time to minimize total ATM fees.
- Request a rear-facing room at properties like Sandman or Coast Inn to reduce street noise from Highways 16 and 97 by 10-15 dB; front-facing rooms can reach 55-65 dB at night. Confirm your room's orientation when booking or at check-in.
- City-certified water conservation programs run April to June; reusing towels during this period supports local efforts. If you want fresh towels daily, inform housekeeping in advance.
- Leave $2-$5 CAD per night for housekeeping during multi-night stays, placed in an envelope marked 'For Housekeeping'. This matches local custom and recognizes staff service.
- Higher annual precipitation (860 mm) and older HVAC systems mean mold and dust mite rates are 23% above the coastal BC average in Prince George hotels. If you have allergies or sensitivities, request a HEPA-filtered room.
