Location
No reception at all. They are working from home. The heater was not working while the temperature was -12 at night.
Good location.
The bathroom was separated from the room using a long curtain and a mesh folding room divider.
While the room was clean upon arrival, there was no room service, until requested. Although friendly, the room service needed to be told exactly what to take care of. If you missed one item, say whiping the floors --it's winter, the floors wouldn't be taken care of. But I guess this is a minor oversight. Other than that, the room was clean, it was easy to get in touch with the staff and everything in in the room worked well. Also, a parking lot at the site was useful.
Stayed at 2 separate occasions, had 2 different rooms. The rooms are beautiful, nicely furnished, everything that I could need for a short stay was there and the beds were very comfortable. I generally enjoyed staying in the rooms and I think the autonomous system to get in and out of the room/hotel is really clever and practical. It's location is perfect. The rue Cartier is amazing for tourists and at a walkable distance to the old city and the Carnaval and many other places you'ld want to visit. Also very accessible by public transport.
Many towels were stained, the bathroom floor was dirty, the shower curtain was dirty and there were still hair all over the bathroom (not mine obviously). It looked as if they only switched the towels and didn't actually clean the bathrooms. This situation happened in both rooms I was in. Nothing a tighter cleaning regime can't fix. The rest of the room was clean otherwise, including the bed sheets, the pillows and the mattresses.
It’s a charming building in a good neighborhood
The room was not very clean and requires a deep cleaning. Our first room also did not have a proper closed bathroom, which was very awkward. The walls are also unfortunately very thin with little to no sound proofing . After an incident where someone else came into our room by accident due to a back door left unlocked prior to our arrival, they upgraded us to another room, which although bigger, was still left unclean from previous visits. The property could really benefit from having staff on site all the time.
It was clean and in location I wanted.
No reception staff, only an intercom and disembodied voice. Many steps to room. Room very cold at night. No staff present to ask for information on anything. No breakfast available.
We were on the second floor in a spacious, clean room. It’s nicely decorated in a safe and quiet neighbourhood.
The hardwood floors are a bit squeaky but it is a heritage building .
It’s charm, decor, location.
Very good
Lots of steep stairs and the unlock system and the entertainment system was hard to figure out. Instructions no clear
Location
The stairs to go to the room and the shower very small. The hotel is in a good location to the main area if you do not have kids or if you are not planning to walk to the main area (old Quebec). The hotel is far away to old Quebec
Location is very good, close to Old City, the Battlefield park and Plains of Abraham; adjacent ($25/night+TAX) parking is convenient. Many restaurants in walking distance. Remote/online reception and check in are unusual but not bad.Lighting in the room and washroom are bright when on maximum but have dimmers - very convenient.Hot and cold filtered water are available. Downstairs there are microwave, toaster, plates and utensils so you can prepare your own meal.
Room (# 14) walls are dirty, require coat of paint badly. No indication of dusting. Closet has one (!) hanger. No cleaning was done after two nights and while fresh towels were delivered the used ones were not removed. Mattress is not bad but pillows are thin and stone hard. This is an old building and sound proofing is not existent.

Decent room design, shared dining room on ground floor
No lift there. Should request for room on ground floor if you have big luggage.
I really liked the bed - it was very comfortable. There was also a portable air conditioner in the room that doubled as a fan, which I used at night for white noise. The room was clean and there were lots of hangers if you need to hang up dresses or coats. The location as well was good, close to lots of restaurants and the area was really quiet and felt very safe. I loved how close it was to the Plains of Abraham, which is a big and open park for runners, cyclists, walkers and just people who like sitting in parks.
It's not so much that I didn't like it but anyone who stays here and ends up on the 2nd floor should know that the stairs are very steep and because the building is old, the stairs are very narrow. I carried my 35 lbs suitcase up the stairs with great caution. Getting my suitcase down the stairs was easier as I just slid it down (I probably should have dragged it up the stairs instead of holding it and walking up). You also should know that the front desk is not staffed in person. The five days I was there (a Friday to Thursday), I never saw anyone at the front desk, though I did get a text message every morning to ask if I had any questions or concerns. If you're a stickler for seeing a human hotel employee every day, this is not the hotel for you.
Location was great, right near the Plains and a little further of a walk to Old Quebec. We called about parking and the hotel parking was full but the staff recommended us paid parking just down the street which was very convenient. It's an old building and there is no staff at the front desk but that didn't bother us. Bed was comfortable and the self check-in was smooth.
Loved the location and the unique settings of the rooms
Having to take the stairs with heavy luggage. The light in the bathroom also turned on the light above the sink. So thru the night it was inconvenient.
