Location as good

No staff and no way to contact the staff. The glass in the door got broken out 1 night and glass was everywhere all day, I called their emergency number and after a round of voicemails prompts it hung up, 4 times. 4 coffee pods for 2 people for 3 nights, 4 towels for the entire stay, no hand soap, no water glasses, even though we asked for them when we checked in. Shower had mold. Terrible hotel, we were on the 3rd floor & I knew we had to take the stairs so that was ok.

The location & the breakfast

The staff was not there most of the time, someone broke the outside glass on the door, there was glass everywhere, I called the emergency number 4 times, the voicemail prompts went nowhere. There was no way to contact the staff. We did not receive any hand soap, or water glasses. We were given 4 towels for 2 people for 3 days, no way to get replacements. They left the jagged broken glass in the door for the entire time, it was s ray going in & out. Staff was unpleasant when we did see them.

The breakfast was delicious -

Could use a deep clean Old cobwebs on the ceiling, edges of the floor had not been cleaned in a long time. Use some mold/mildew cleaner on the tub surround.

The location-Its the only thing that it has going for it.

We arrived late Aug 16 and the door code was texted to us; which was fine. We never saw any staff at the desk the entire 2 days and the phone number to call went directly to messaging. Only 2 towels for 4 women, one roll of toilet paper, for 2 nights/4 women. We did see one staff member, but she said our room wasn't assigned to her, but she would leave a note for more supplies. We received nothing. The bathroom wasn't clean-a previous soap and shampoo was left and the tub felt sticky, sink tap sprayed everywhere, tap to tub was loose-dangerous, the room was "tired", table lamps were not functional, a few light bulbs blown. Breakfast off-site, was very good the one morning that we could take advantage, but we didn't know upon booking; that the restaurant didn't open until 8am our train left at 8 for Montreal Aug 18, so we paid for a breakfast that we couldn't use and there was no compensation. I called the hotel several times afterward and they said they would look into compensation, but we have been ignored and the phone constantly goes to messaging with no follow-up or it just disconnects. This place was quite a disappointment for the high price that we paid.

Floor 2’s ac didn’t work. Was moved to another hotel for 2 nights, but 3rd night had to come back to no ac as advertised. Was told we wifey credit, but did not receive anything. Advertised breakfast included, but failed to say it was at restaurant next door and staff expected tips!

The heat pump in the room wasn't working so it was a little warm in the room

Great location. our room faced the street. One of the windows opened. We could hear activity from the street and restaurant which we liked. Unique, not a chain.

The air conditioning didn’t work well. Glad it wasn’t a super hot day. Parking and then walking with your suitcases uphill, on uneven streets. Seems most, if not all hotels in the area are in the same situation, it’s part of what makes the city unique, but be prepared for that and pack light.

The room’s decor was nice and the place is in a very good location.

The service was disgraceful. We stayed for two nights. First of all, the lady at the front wouldn’t answer questions properly and talked like she doesn’t want to be there. Later we realized she was on video calls and phone calls the entire two to three hours of the day she was present on each day. She gave us a room just infront of the reception and said we could could have an another room the next day. For the time being, my husband and I said that we will just stay both nights in the same room and not to worry about us changing it. After going in, in 15 mins we realized that the toilet doesn’t flush properly and it took four to five flushes to even flush a tissue. We brought up that issue with and her and she convinced us that it’s normal. And this is not an issue, again, she was on call and acted like talking to us for that issue was an inconvenience. She left for the day very soon after, and throughout the night we kept seeing that the toilet didn’t work, we couldn’t use it, and spoke to her when she came back the next late afternoon about changing the room or fixing the toilet. She refused saying that’s how the toilet is, she can’t do anything, started giving us tips (don’t hold the flush too long etc) and said as we said we will stay in same room the day before for both nights, she can’t give us another room , mentioned they don’t have any available rooms or call any plumbers or anyone to fix the toilet. I finally snapped and said how can we stay without a functioning toilet and either she called her manager or someone to fix the toilet or we are leaving the hotel and we are getting refund for the night we stayed there without a functioning toilet. She said she doesn’t have a manager and she is calling someone and is coming into the room in a few mins. She knocks fifteen minutes later wih a key to a new room in the building a few doors down.

1. Location, location, location! You are just a block inside the wall of Old Town and can see Hotel Frontenac further down the street. We parked at 39 Rue Saint Louis (entrance is off Rue Haldimand) and were able to walk everywhere. 2. The history! You just feel like a part of a different time and space.

Just noting a cultural difference: hotel staff is not 24/7. We had a few questions along the way, and the desk wasn't staffed. There was an emergency phone number given to us, but our situation wasn't "emergency" level.

Great location, clean and overall served our needs. Good breakfast included at the resto next door. The rooms are small and there is no elevator but it wasn't an issue for us as we only stayed one night. I definitely wouldn't consider it for a longer term stay (more than 3 nights)

They don't really have luggage storage I guess, but when I explained it was one backpack for a couple of hours after checkout, they did agree. I did see a couple of other small bags as well.

The rooms are very pretty and a great location within the city.

The front desk staff was never around. This caused a few issues for us.

We left after seeing the accommodation we would have to find parking nearby and pay extra there was no breakfast after it said online there was a breakfast that was part of the reason we booked and after speaking to the person to contact that evening for any issues they would not give a refund .so we left and found another hotel for our stay

Overall the stay was excellent, everything was as expected. The room was great for our stay and the facilities all worked well. The location was unbeatable and was very cosy. We loved the hotel as a whole and would recommend it to others.

The check-in experience was degraded by the awful attitude of the boy who gave us our keys. I'm not sure if there was a language barrier and misunderstanding when we walked in or what, but we were able to converse and all information was understood both ways. I would not stay here again due to this experience. He acted as if we were ruining his day by being there and was completely miserable to both of us.

Size of Room3 way too small, as was the bathroom. RV remote was dead.

Close proximity to Old Quebec town.

The toilet and mini shower enclosure too small and heating is not short day time and not in the evening.

Bed was not comfortable. Room was small. Bathroom very small. Could use some updating or sprucing up. Public parking a bit far.
