    Pros +

    • It was available on a 3 day weekend when our house had issues and it was clean
    • Atmosphere, very kind and friendly staff, beautiful location
    • Character, location, staff, excellent restaurant

    Cons -

    • No amenities like a blow dryer, no TV, stairs were extremely steep, could not check in until 4
    • This was not what I expect from my beloved Captain Whidbey. The front staff were openly arguing, I heard the bartender yelling at some of the wait staff, and I wasn?t ever checked in - so I was marked as a no-show.
    • Loved it all: the lodge, the history, the restaurant service and food were spectacular, and the grounds are gorgeous. It surpassed my expectations.

Loved this hotel. As long as you know that this is an old style, 1907 lodge, you will be ok with the small room and the shared bathroom. The bathroom was beautifully done and modern and I never saw another person in it, day or night.

    Location, quiet, grounds

Breakfast was a bit different, restaurant and tavern were closed on the days we were there

Character. Location. This really made up for a lot of other sins.

Floors were really squeaky and the bathroom was down the hall.

Location was great & the Hotel is Nostalgic. The staff let us check out 2 hrs late so we could get dressed for a nearby wedding.

The Hotel was Not what I expected. I didn't know we'd have to share a bathroom which was down the Hall! We hated that!! I also didn't know my 83 yr old mother would have to climb stairs to get to our room. The watermelon was bad & ran out of cream.

Beautiful setting. Stress-free environment. Nostalgic look and feel. Mostly quiet. Great place to relax and unwind. Staff was very accommodating. Nearby Coupeville was a wonderful little town. The location was in the center of all our activities.

Ice was not very accessible. (To be fair, their Ice machine broke) Furniture in room (chair and bed) was not as comfortable as I would've liked.

The views, quietness, the landscape design what very quaint and relaxing.

The guest book says they carry bottled water but they were always out of stock. Would be nice to have a fire pit down on the deck.

Everything! The main Inn is a PNW treasure, built in1907 and updated just enough. The ambiance is so peaceful. A true slice of heaven. The restaurant is delicious.

The location and setting was amazing. The staff were super helpful and very accommodating. The onsite restaurant was delicious and had lots of vegetarian options for us. The yoga room was a nice amenity.

I wish there was an outdoor ahower next to the sauna.

View nice-appreciated the lobby being open 24/7 since the room had no indoor seating options-only beds. Liked the nice porch chairs and all th outdoor seating options in both areas-lagoon and Penn Cove. I really liked the in room coffee option of pour over, vs having those annoying pod machines. Real half n half was also a nice touch.

For the price paid-the bathroom tiled/grout were in need of repair. The bathroom/shower room just needed a little sprucing up. Had to ask for cream and there were no napkins out with the coffee service
