Hampton Inn & Suites Roanoke Downtown

Having stayed here previously, I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the first room we were given. So much so that I had to request a room change to something cleaner. The second one was better, but still not close to what it should be.

The hotel and room was visually appealing, matching what is posted online, but the smell is what was memorable. In the lobby and down the hallways very pleasant.

Excellent checking staff.

Room was dirt, bed sheets were mot changed and missing fitted sheet. Check-in staff changed us to a new room.

You do have to pay for parking. $8 for the night we stayed

We love this hotel especially the location. Walking distance to all of downtown Roanoke.

We were unhappy with the mattresses. The insides of both mattresses were worn down. Once we realized this the next night we slept on the middle to outsides and were fine.

My husband and I love to exploring downtown areas and the location of this hotel is perfection.. Staff was so friendly! Really enjoyed ending the night in the lobby with the cozy couches and hot chocolate. Breakfast was also great! Highly recommend!

Front desk could be less casual and more professional. The person checking me in was kind and polite. However, when a guest arrives, she should be more formal even if not addressing the guest directly.

Check in staff was so nice and friendly even gave recommendations on what to do down town would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Spacious room, good location for downtown activities and venues.

Limited staff and maid service (though towels could be delivered as needed). Parking prices, the hotels shares a public parking garage.

The room was clean with a nice view and the bed was extremely comfortable. I wish I had spent more time in it.

The location is fabulous

The room was substandard, not very clean. Thin walls between rooms. Poor setup regarding the parking garage and elevator.

Location to downtown, restaurants and highways

Thursday night was fine but on Friday and Saturday nights the occupants in the room next door were so loud and obnoxious that the police had to be called to force them to leave. Friday night party/fight was until 2am and Saturday until 5am.

The room was okay, it was right downtown where we could easily walk to shops and restaurants.

This hotel only had one working elevator. You had to wait 20+ minutes for an elevator. I know it’s COVID but this elevator has been broken since April (the staff said) and that is unacceptable. We ended up walking seven flights of stairs.

Staff, convenient access

Mattress was a little rough. When showering the tub filled up as well even though the plug was up.

The location is perfect for anyone visiting Roanoke. Centrally located, walkable to restaurants and shops ( and still quiet at night), overlooking mountains, great staff. Highly recommended, especially the rooms with a balcony. Absolutely worth it!

I really don't have any complaints about this hotel. I didn't like how the air conditioner didn't have an option to keep the fan on, but that is a minor issue to say the least.
