    Pros +

    • We had a small incident in the parking lot with our car and security was amazing and very thorough with the whole situation.
    • The room was beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and the heated floor in the bathroom was amazing!
    • Location, comfortable beds, history

    Cons -

    • The amount of homeless people about to wander the grounds.
    • The parking fee for a night felt steep, especially for self parking and walking across the entire grounds. Other hotels we've stayed at like this have not had such expensive fare for parking.
    • On going repairs to plumbing caused some irritations, pay to park on site, long walk up to entrance from self-parking

    Great atmosphere and location! UNIQUE!

Price of food at the hotel has gone up tremendously! Too much for a brunch!!! But, the food was delicious.

It¿s an iconic hotel with character and style. I love the lobby, bar, verandas, walnut-paneled elevators. The service was excellent, and parking was easy. We could see the mountains from our room.

The room was a bit small, and we couldn¿t open the windows.

    The customer service was great

Yes, we called twice for more towels and never received them.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 6-20-2023

Great customer service. From the time you arrive and during your stay. You feel a presence that everyone appreciates you. The food is cooking to perfection and presented very well.

I feel the room could have a more modern/historical look. The bathroom was very current with a updated look.

Great location. Easy on/off highway. Close to restaurants and shopping. Very nice hotel, well maintained. Friendly and attentive staff

We stay at this hotel anytime we're in the Roanoke area and love it. The regency Room dining experience is wonderful especially on Friday or Saturday evening when the three-piece band is playing.

Amazing place to stay. Quality staff and room. The food was delicious and reasonable.

    8Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 10-14-2022

It¿s history and close proximity to restaurants, museums, and shopping.

For the price, a free continental breakfast would have been much appreciated.

The location is convenient to shops, restaurants, airport and interstate.

The smell in our room was nauseating. Paying $---night, you would expect superb conditions. This room was more like something you would find at a Motel 6. When I talked to the front desk, They said that there was nothing they could do. Will Not go back!

    6MarthaPosted on: 9-12-2022

Atmosphere. Staff was very nice and prompt.

Was disappointed in the fine dining restaurant; mainly as we had stayed 2 years ago and had an awesome breakfast. This time a buffet style breakfast just didn't fit the order. Everything was basically cold and wasn't what I had wanted and expensive.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 7-1-2022

Generally the staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Food was great as well as decor of the exterior and interior of the hotel.

I was surprised there were no mini fridges in the standard guest room. Charlotte is very hot in the summer therefore having a mini fridge would have been great! Housekeeping was disappointing so much so we told the front desk staff .

    7AlyciaPosted on: 6-26-2022

The location was wonderful and the staff were cordial and helpful.

There were a number of other guests that were yelling and running through the hallway through out the night. Not the fault of staff but unexpected and unpleasant.

    2MatthewPosted on: 5-11-2022

People across the hallway were loud all night. Front desk didn't answer. Brought it up with guests across hallway and they wouldn't let me go down the elevator against my will. Bathroom smelled like smoke.

    4Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 4-20-2022

    It had potential.

Pine Restaurant Fried green tomatoes floated in grease. Food sat under heat lamp 10 minutes and we were only customers Room wasn¿t cleaned Easter Sunday so we returned to a messy room and no clean towels. Grout in bathroom needs cleaning
