Hampton Inn Salt Lake City-Downtown

Worst experience of my life in a hotel and I’m 40, and been traveling regularly my entire life! We came to SLC for son who’s at Primary’s Children’s Hospital, so we already were here on rough circumstances.

The staff at the front desk was rude, and completely incompetent. I’ve worked 25 years in customer service, and was told I could stay elsewhere ( so I did and best choice of my entire trip) Little America was cheaper and a 4.5 star hotel with valet!!

The staff was always cleaning and polite.

The gym did not make sense. The T.V. is behind the bike, treadmill, and elliptical, which makes no sense. The T.V. should be front of those machines.

Location. Nice and clean. Fridge in room. Could watch Netflix on TV.

Jets on hot tub did not work.

The staff was very kind and empathetic to our issue with the bathroom and room floors being dirty.

Our room floors were dirty and so was the bathroom floor and toilet. I had to clean it myself since the front desk gal was too busy and I didn?t want to wait for her to come up. Since, my kids needed to use the bathroom.

Comfy beds, clean rooms, clean & attractive lobby: large breakfast area (seating & food nugget). Neat Hampton Inn ever!

The free breakfast was great, enough time to still get some even if you slept in a little. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant!

Couple downsides were the lack of a microwave in the room, the water pressure in the bathroom was a little weak, and the water temperature didn't seem to go up past warm but that's just because I like my showers quite hot!

The front desk and manager allowed us to check out a bit late(by 3 hours) as we had a red-eye to catch.

No microwave in the room. For families this might be a problem.

Friendly staff, FREE PARKING, complimentary breakfast (decent choices available), good location (on the edge of downtown but within walking distance to local restaurants and other main destination within the downtown area), felt safe as solo female

The noise. My room was facing a major downtown st. and streetlight stop. Have you had Harley Davidsons revving for hours riding and stopping at the light next to your hotel room? The hotel needs to upgrade the windows to block more noise. Slept 2 hours.

This is one of the nicest and cleanest hotels I've been to! The amenities were wonderful. The breakfast, clean & bright lobby area, fitness room, hot tub & pool were AWESOME!

The proximimity of the hotel to Smith's Ball park was nice.

Very old, run down finishes. Needs to be refurbished. Does not compare to another Hampton Inn that we stayed at during our road trip. The cleaning staff was always blocking the hallway and having conversations not being considerate of the guests.

Restroom could have been with proper door instead of sliding one.

I loved the 24 hour pool and hot tub facilities. The breakfast was quite good with a good variety and was kept clean and well stocked.

I didn¿t care for the sliding barn style door for the bathroom in the room. I also thought the ¿closet¿was lacking. Those are minor complaints though.

Very clean. Lots of holiday decorations. Great location for walking to main street. Room was just what we needed for a night. Breakfast was everything you'd expect and very fresh/fulfilling.
