    Pros +

    • The location was great and the landscaping is lovely. The room was nice and bed was comfortable. The pool is nice.
    • Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The grounds were open yet secluded with a good number of mature trees. Sitting on our rooms veranda was akin to sitting on the edge of a forest glen. Restaurants near by.
    • History and location.

    Cons -

    • There's no elevators and no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms and no ice dispensers. This is not an ideal hotel for older adults or seniors without those.
    • Ther wasn¿t a refrigerator or microwave in our room. Their website has a room picture with a large refrigerator so I guess you can request this option. I¿m not sure about a microwave. For myself this was a minor issue.
    • Construction, failure to clean room. Did not tell us,there would be no servicing of the room.

The room was very clean and good size.

I was not happy that I paid extra for a pool view room but could see nothing except banana trees. No pool view at all! I mentioned this to hotel employee (mgr) and he did nothing. Also, no refrigerator in upstairs rooms. No coffee refresh or maid service.

The grounds and landscaping was absolutely beautiful. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were nice and shower was perfect.

The bed was way too hard for me. I didn't sleep like I usually do. Pillows and covers, blankets were adequate and clean but mattress was like concrete.

    Location

No fridges in room, no ice machines, poolside service advertised was non existent, they had a walk up bar that did not have the same prices for happy hour as the onsite restaurant but the exact same menu. Restaurant did not cook steaks as requested.

Awesome little hotel...Great location in Salado and good value

Thin walls...We stayed on the bottom floor and could hear every little step above us which happened all nght

The room was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the vibe of the place is super cool!

We didn't have a mini fridge or microwave in our room, which we found very strange and disappointing. I feel like those two amenities are a given in a modern hotel room (especially at $160 per night). Otherwise, it was wonderful, but we were disappointed in the lack of resources provided in the room.

I could here everything through the walls and ceiling. Voices, people moving around, moving furniture around,

Walking distance to many restaurants and breweries. Very quiet for being off the freeway.

Parking is confusing as there really is no parking lot for guests.

It is a beautiful place to stay in a gorgeous town. It took my breath away! I am definitely going to be going again for a longer trip because this has had to have been the best quick stay i have ever had! ( stayed one night as a mid way stopping spot on a much longer trip). Perfect R&R place for my next weekend getaway!

The buildings could have been marked better. Unfortunately I got delayed so when I arrived it was dark and got confused where to get into the rooms since the doors are on the opposite side of the building from where you park, but now that I know next time will not be so hard. Also the doors open into the room but are also all glass so if you close the curtain for privacy it is really hard to get in and out since the curtain blocks the door. It's a small inconvenience to all the beauty. It would be nice however if the glass had on sided tint where you could see out but no one could see in so you only had to use the curtains if you wanted it dark and not so others couldn't see you.

The Inn was conveniently located to all the Scottish Highland Games events as well as restaurants and stores. We walked everywhere. We were concerned that the rooms were next to the highway, but once inside our room we realized how quiet they were. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful when we needed coffee and water. We will definitely return to the Stagecoach Inn. We cannot stop talking about it to our friends.

There are. I issues with the property.

Historical gem. Spacious rooms. Staff very kind and welcoming.

Next to the interstate…. But where else would a stagecoach inn be?

    6ElizabethPosted on: 9-22-2025

good location, great air conditioning, comfortable bed and pillow, good coffee, very nice staff at front desk and maintenance.

Tv and room safe didn’t work. Maintenance finally got tv to work but we were no longer in room and did not need the tv. Saw roach and black bug in coffee area and bathroom.

gorgeous property and so laid back. I also love the staff - they are helpful, sweet, and down to earth. The style of the rooms and pool and everything is so unique!

Really, I have no complaints. It was summer so there were some wasps around but that's normal in TX
