The outside was nice and the lobby. The staff from friendly and courteous.
First there is a surprise $300 deposit on top of the prepaid hotel stay and valet is forced there at $45 per night. The 1st room smelled like mold. There was what looked like mold on the window. The air vent was dirty. The floors were cracked and chipped including the furniture. The linens were yellowed. The alarm clock by the bed was caked with dust/dirt. The paint was cracking/peeling along with the wallpaper. There was no microwave and the fridge was tiny. We went down to ask for another room or a refund and they said they could not do a refund since it was through a 3rd party reservation, so they bumped us up to a different larger room with more issues. This room had the same chipped floors and furniture, warped and stained lamp shades, dirty air vent, hair in the shower, mold on the shower ceiling because there was no working bathroom fan, so the moisture was trapped. There was rust on the handle in the shower and on the toilet plumbing. The mirror in the bathroom was chipped. The hall floor was dirty and outdated along with the rest of the rooms. The mattress had stains along with the mattress cover. The ceiling had stains (looked like water damage). A prostitute came in with a man even, which speaks to the area it’s in. The valet parks your car in an open lot and sits inside on their phones at night. We did not have money to switch hotels, so we did stay but will not be returning. This place is very misleading!

Room is spacious and clean.
The room just next to the lifts so it is a bit noisy whenever the lifts are operating.

Good location to go to the convention center. generally friendly staff.
The restaurant is very limited in choice. The hotel is surrounded by highways and therefore doesn't give you a nice feel of the area.

Good location, beautiful building.
Rooms, especially the bathroom, could use some renovation

Beautiful Hotel. Nice pool area. Staff very nice all around.
Accessibility to the pool for the disabled was non existent. I traveled with my family and one individual was in a wheelchair. We couldn’t get to the pool.

This was a really nice hotel and it exceeded my expectations. The staff was great especially John! I knew that anything I needed would be taken care of. The breakfast was also REALLY good. I also thought they had a pretty decent view and it overlooking the pool is a nice touch
No notes :)

Room was clean. Facilities seemed older but were all right.
Beds were small and uncomfortable. The air conditioner didn't work that well.

The Whitehall is a gem in the heart of Houston. Convenient, fairly priced. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The coffee shop on site is a bonus and they are pet friendly. I stay here 3 or 4 times a year and always want to come back.
