Just the price and now I see why it was a horrible experience. Even the staff members expressed how horrible the places how terrible is to work there and they apologize, but they know exactly how it is and more than understood why I would never return.
The staff and location were good

The staff, and room size was very good.
Nothing. The hotel is less than one star on every category. You couldn't understand the front desk man that yells out a window, no not that door. You had three or four Iranians living in a room and a convenient stoevon otherside. Hardly any TV service.

The room was surprisingly clean and well equipped.
Very nice helpful staff. Quiet older hotel with solid doors and walls. Slept very well. Breakfast was good. Biscuits and sausage gravy was a little to0 salty. Yogurt, and coffee were good. Simple check in and check out. Close to a good McDonalds.
For the price point, this is an excellent option.

Cool vibe and location
The hotel was unique and a fun play on the music industry. The rooms were large and nice.

It had a modern look and feel and the bed and pillows were very nice. It's very hard to find good pillows when traveling. The bathroom and shower area was very nice also. A lot of facilities do the upgrades but they still have a "used" look to them.
The location was great - close to restaurants, gas stations, and right off the highway.
Lobby area was nice.

Top Tips
- Reserve your hotel room well ahead of major Bristol events like Motor Speedway race weekends or Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion. Rates may double and rooms often sell out months before these dates.
- Check if your hotel is in Tennessee or Virginia, as State Street marks the border—local taxes, regulations, and even Sunday alcohol sales hours differ. For example, Sunday alcohol sales start after 10 am in Tennessee but not before noon in Virginia.
- Always confirm your total room rate by reviewing the full pricing breakdown online or calling to ask about state and city taxes, typically 5-7% in Tennessee, and possible resort or parking fees which can run $15 to $25 per night.
- Bring valid government-issued photo ID and the credit card used for booking. International travelers may need a passport. Hotels require these for check-in plus a security hold. If paying cash, expect a larger deposit and call ahead to confirm.
- Tipping is standard: bellhops typically receive $1-2 USD per bag, housekeeping $2-5 USD per night, and restaurants 15-20% of your bill. Some restaurants include service charges automatically, so check your receipt before tipping extra.
- Ask hotel staff about shuttle options for downtown or local attractions, since public transportation is limited and Tri-Cities Regional Airport (TRI) is about a 30-45 minute drive. Confirm shuttle hours, as some operate only by request.
- Choose your hotel based on your plans: downtown hotels near State Street are close to nightlife and the Birthplace of Country Music Museum (within a 10-minute walk). Hotels off I-81 or Highway 11E are better for Speedway events or highway access.
- Request specific room features like quiet location, adjoining rooms, cribs, refrigerators, or strong Wi-Fi when booking. For accessibility, such as step-free access, notify the hotel in advance to confirm your needs can be met.
- Wi-Fi speeds can vary even when advertised as free. Before arrival, call to confirm reliability for video calls or ask about premium business options. Test the Wi-Fi with a speed test on arrival and report problems promptly.
- During major events, parking may cost $10-20 per day downtown and meters or tow zones may apply. Ask about complimentary parking, rules for oversized vehicles, and accessible (ADA) parking to ensure your needs are met.
- Check pet and smoking policies in advance. Many Bristol hotels are pet-friendly for a fee—verify animal size limits, extra charges, and if emotional support animals need documentation. Most properties are non-smoking indoors, and cleaning fees apply for violations.
- Use the in-room safe for valuables and photograph any existing room damage at arrival to avoid charges. If you need extra storage or an accessible room, check with the front desk as some accessible rooms offer larger safes or alternative storage.
- Ask the front desk for local tips on restaurants or live music venues, such as Quaker Steak & Lube or the Paramount Center for the Arts. Bristol's country and Americana scene attracts visitors year-round.
- Most Bristol restaurants close early on weekdays. Confirm late-night or 24-hour dining options with your hotel—some nearby choices include IHOP or select fast food chains if you’re arriving late.
- Quiet hours in most hotels start around 10-11 pm. Be courteous and note that some properties actively monitor noise and may enforce these hours to ensure all guests can rest.
- Rideshares like Uber and Lyft serve Bristol, but may be scarce and cost more during events. Book early, consider hotel shuttles, or confirm fares with trusted local taxi companies as a backup.
- Hotel health and safety policies can change by property or event. Check the hotel’s website within 3 days of arrival for the most recent mask guidance, cleaning protocols, or event requirements.
- Join hotel loyalty programs like Hilton Honors or Marriott Bonvoy for perks such as free Wi-Fi or room upgrades. Members often receive 10-15% off during direct booking. Call the hotel directly in off-season to negotiate for free parking or late checkout.
- If you’ll stay multiple nights, ask about onsite laundry, kitchenettes, or grocery delivery. Some hotels have partnerships with local laundromats, but you may need a car as most laundromats are not within walking distance.
- For safety, keep keys with you, lock your vehicle, and use the in-room safe or hotel front desk safe for valuables too large for the safe. Choose well-lit parking areas, even though Bristol is generally a safe destination.
