Candlewood Suites Williamsport by IHG

I liked how cold the room was.

The bathroom door would barely move, much less shut. There was also a bug crawling on the towel. The bathroom floor had dirt marks. The microwave was completely dirty and dishes were in the dishwasher.

Convenient location to stores, restaurants, and college

Lack of communication and helpfulness of staff was nonexistent

Hotel is under renovation; no mention of this in the ad. We picked this hotel because they have an indoor pool (we have a 10 year old) and because there was a 1-bedroom king suite available. Pool was of course closed due to renovation. Even though I booked a king suite I was told there were none available because they gave mine away and then double-booked me in a different room. i was initially quoted a price of $149 per night, but because they double-booked me and gave me their booking it was for $239 for a lesser room. Room wasn’t clean. Shower was full of someone else’s hair when we arrived and everything is coated in dust in the room. There were crushed eggshells outside our door when we arrived. There were no plates, bowls, or silverware in the room; just a toaster and two saucers, and a butter knife. i was told that i’m going to be double-charged for this stay and that it’s my responsibility to try to get my money back. Keep in mind i was given a lesser room, and now am being charged almost $500 for a very dirty room that i didn’t even book. I’m an IHG member and have been for years, and this is the worst experience i’ve ever had by far. Total rip-off. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
