Pros +
- Location was super. Close to sights to see, subway stops and eating establishments. Liked that had access to wifi and the staff was friendly and helpful.
- It was inexpensive compared to most other hotels
- A clean room in a great location. The shared bathroom was clean as well.
Cons -
- Can't think of anything.
- Room didnt feel clean, got bit by something in the room/one of the daytime desk person, not helpful or friendly/room really needs new wallpaper, blinds...I have stayed at Hotel 17 (before it changed to monthly rent), it was great!
- Wifi was slow at times. Usually, disconnecting and reconnecting solved the problem, though.

It was clean, staff was friendly, great location
I love the older hotels, but especially love the low price and location that is one block from the subway station. I have stayed at Hotel 17 for several visits and was relieved to find availability at the sister Hotel 31. I hope they open more NY hotels!
Good Wifi reception
The elevator with a swing out door and a folding metal gate
The price was right for midtown Manhattan.
It has a shared bath, which was OK for me, but I wouldn't take my wife there.
It's old. The beds are broken. The shared bathroom had no water pressure. The walls are paper thin and you hear the people in the adjacent rooms as if they are right next to you. Also the hotel had a sign in the lobby that no visitors allowed after 11pm.
When I found the room is freezing they sent me individual heater to accommodate. There is a sink and dryer in the room
The desk was way too small for guests who need to work/ study in their room. The shower sucks. It was either too hard or too cold, very hard to adjust. The sound insulation is not good. I had to hear men using bathroom from time to time which was gross
cannot remember
small room, limited services and facilities, lack of bathroom.
The front desk staff were terrific. We stopped by about 10am to drop off our luggage. The room was available so he allowed us to check in early. Rather than make us find a copy shop to print out tickets for the 911 memorial, staff readily did it for us.
I loved this place. I only stayed for one night, but it was a very cute and comfortable room. I read every review before I booked my stay and everything was exactly as expected. the shared bathrooms were extremely clean and the room was clean.
Nothing, other than location.
No cable TV, antiquated decor.
well-maintained, many new features, tasteful, clean. Chose this hotel for its combination of price and location, and ended up with a far nicer stay than I expected.
they give a coupon for breakfast for $6,95 at a nearby restaurant. The restaurant isn't very good - would be better off not using the coupon and getting some good food and coffee.
It was nice and clean and close to the train station also the staff were nice and helpful
They had regular tv
Loved that they upgraded my room for free!! I was iffy about sharing a bathroom but for the one night hey have me a room with my own !!
The only complaint I have is that the pillows Aren't too great haha
The hotel was close enough to be able to walk to many areas in my itinerary.
Nothing to add.
The room was decent size for New York City.
Cool elevator
Very outdated technology
only stayed a night
