    Pros +

    • Quiet, stylish and affordable boutique hotel with friendly service.
    • The people who worked there were awesome.
    • The location was excellent and in a quiet corner of the city so no roadside noise. The cafe and coffee was wonderful downstairs. One of the best in the area and lots of people working from here during the day - a good atmosphere - also loved the decor.

    Cons -

    • This fairly expensive hotel in Manhattan had no USB or USBc plug-ins in the rooms, which made everything more difficult. Also the lighting in the bathroom to put on makeup was awful.
    • No slippers or robes
    • For a one stay there was nothing to complain about - would be good if restaurant opened an hour earlier

Location was very convenient for where I needed to be. It was clean, comfortable bed and good shower and the price was fair.

For a one stay there was nothing to complain about - would be good if restaurant opened an hour earlier

The hotel was quite clean, certainly a highlight. The location worked very well for me.

It was quite inconvenient that the hotel did not take contactless payments. The chair, lamp, and desk in the room were quite uncomfortable, not suitable for business travelers. The shower head was a bit uncomfortable.

bed was a great size, location is nice a quiet, room was a good size, the view was very nice, staff were friendly and helpful - second time we have stayed at Hugo Hotel, both have been nice experiences. Would stay again

The coffee machine was a little difficult and couldn't use it in the end. Would have been nice if we could have used it.

The reception is extremely helpful and accommodating. We were permitted to checkin at noon, which was very appreciated. The cafe is nice and the food/drinks were very good. We ate breakfast and lunch there. It is set up more like a n upscale Starbucks; order food drinks at the counter and they will bring it to your table. The hotel is a little off the beaten track and a block from the Westside Highway, but you're within two/three blocks of good restaurants and shopping.

The rooms are very small, even for NYC standards. The rooftop bar is much more akin to a club than a lounge atmosphere, with the music being loud like a club and the lighting dark.

The rooms had a nice vibe to it

The water pressure was low, the water was not hot enough. The staff seemed inexperienced and the location wasn’t the best.

The help and service from front desk, also the cleanliness of the room.

Unfortunately this time, the alarm of the clock was setup too early and unfortunately there’s no button to turn it off. So, it interrupted my sleep.

Roof top bar closed (one of the reasons we chose the hotel)Room was quite small and view was poorShower a bit annoying as had to get soaked in cold water when turning it on and before you could adjust the temperature

Overall it was very clean good location and comfortable bed and room. Staff was friendly could approach guests a bit more in seating area. Our room was freshened up and tidied everyday to same standard.

The floor of room was not very clean when arrived but the next day better. maybe hotel was fully booked. But overall as I say very good.

    7HendrikusPosted on: 1-6-2026

Room was good and view over the Hudson nice, especially for NY

Rooftop bar is closed and breakfast/food place is really very bad with staff that is not customer friendly and very limited food choice.

Luxurious, good space, love the location near the west village and soho!!

Only drawback really was the price, but still very good comparatively to other places. A microwave or toaster would have been handy as well but understand the space constraints

The rooftop bar was very nice. Coffee was great and staff was friendly.

This hotel, tucked away in a quiet but convenient location between Tribeca and the West Village, is a very good NY lodging option. The spectacular view of the Hudson River from the room was a wonderful surprise. The room itself was quite spacious by New York standards and was well appointed. The onsite restaurant is a pleasant stop for coffee or tea.

    9ShephenPosted on: 11-26-2025

The room was very clean The staff were friendly and efficient. While the room was not large it was perfect for a short stay.

The only issue we had was the coffee machine in our room broke.
