Cons -
- not well maintained, broken plastic around toilet seat, chipped bathtub, dark/old carpet/furniture, poor lighting. not a full service hotel, no room service, lobby on third floor of shared building. No way a 4 star hotel. Paid for 2 beds, got 1.
- The lifts can take a little long at times and as they are small quite often they were full and we had to wait until the next one. Not really a big deal though when staying in such a gorgeous place . The reception is a tiny bit exposed when doing financial transactions.
- Just couple of small things: the sink faucets did not work properly and in the king room there was not so much space if you have more than one luggage.

Thea staff are exceptional and extremely friendly helpful. The rooms are spacious , very very comfortable and tastefully decorated . Very clean and well stocked daily.

I loved this restored hotel: room, bed, pillows, cleaning!

Excellent location, clean, cozy, quiet, great staff and atmosphere! Told them my trip was for my birthday and the welcomed me with flowers, chocolates and a signed birthday card from all the staff. LOVED THE GESTURE
Nothing that we didn’t like
Lovely modern brand new hotel with luxurious interiors, really comfortable stay
We were put in a room that was adjoining another room with a locked door, it was quite noisy but the staff were really accommodating by moving us to a more private room
The staff was incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly throughout our stay. The location is exceptional—super convenient and makes getting around very easy. The rooms are fully renovated and feel fresh, clean, and modern. It’s also a smaller hotel, which gives it a more welcoming, cozy, and personal touch compared to bigger properties. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely stay here again
I booked the room for 4 people (my wife and my two children) based on the listing stating the room had two queen-size beds. However, in Room 201, the two beds were not queen-size—they were clearly smaller
Nice location, the most comfortable bed, Amazing breakfast great history of the building
Everything was cool
Near transportation and Grand Central, Bryant Park, Park Ave.
Nothing. Everything was great.
The staff were very welcoming and the facilities were great. We arrived late and really appreciated the complimentary minbar in our room. The location is fantastic and the room size is generous by central NYC standards.
An onsite bar would have been great, however, I appreciate space is limited.
Lovely small hotel, very central to lots of places, and we loved that the rooms were all newly renovated. Great heating too which was needed as it was the coldest winter! We asked for adjong rooms and got them, which was nice. The beds are very comfy and king sized! Staff were all lovely and friendly and very helpful.
Slight smell of gas fire in the breakfast room, which was a bit off putting. The hotel is very small so not much athmosphere in the lobby.
Good size room, comfortable bed, nice decoration, central location , beautiful gym, friendly staff
Shower caps and vanity not replaced when used. Bed is weirdly made with comforter always coming out.
Lovely room, with a view of the Chrysler building. Very clean and coffee machine v welcome! Great with a family too as a little bigger than standard in NYC, and after a long day walking - a bath! Location cannot be beaten, just a round the corner from Grand Central. Would definitely stay again!
Our booked room, with two double beds was not available on check in but the hotel handled it superbly.
This was a fabulous boutique hotel in a perfect location - we stayed five nights and if the weather was warmer we never would have gotten into a car!!The staff was so accommodating no matter what we asked including an upgrade of our room to the junior suite which was a lovely room! The steakhouse adjacent to the property is wonderful. It’s pricey but we were able to take advantage of restaurant week and enjoyed a first class dinner at the bar without a reservation. Service was excellent and the food absolutely delicious.
Nothing at all - if we were to nit pick it would have been nice to have coffee in the lobby - we realize the restaurant next door provides coffee but it’s nice to grab a cup early AM.
The location was great, right next to Grand Central station and some of the Reception staff were lovely and friendly and chatty. Room Service was good and fast
The lift was super slow, the place has recently been refurbished but I couldn't see it - the room was scruffy and badly finished in places. The AC was poor and the nights were way too hot as a consequence. Some of the Reception Staff were totally clueless. I couldn't have the room I paid for as it it was out of commission which was a big disappointment. The room was cleaned but things were re-stocked. The bed was SUPER uncomfortable, lumpy and soft and really low.
Beautiful property, exquisitely designed. Rooms are huge for the city standards, lots of closet space. Comfy beds and pillows
The only negative we could find during our 12 day stay, was the lack of a ramp or stroller/wheelchair access. We were traveling with our 14mo baby and had a bit of a struggle every time we left or arrived to the hotel. Trying to carry the stroller up the stairs and manage to open the 2 sets of doors at the same time. Tho I must say every time there was a free concierge or front desk person available they rushed to help us with the stroller!
The location -- it was an easy walk to the theatre district and it felt so safe... The place is beautiful, and the staff were lovely and welcoming.
I wish there were valet parking --
Beautiful room with high ceilings. Complimentary snacks and beverages in the room.
Everything from the location, the room sizes and design to the staff were exceptional! The other customers at the hotel were also very classy and polite people. I would definitely stay there again if I go on holidays again in NYC!
