    Pros +

    • Location was good. Room was spacious and clean. Cleaning staff were very friendly and accommodating. Coffee bar was adequate.
    • hotel housekeepers offer us water.
    • Location, character of the building, nice staff

    Cons -

    • Staff quoted us $10.00 more for the flat rate cab ride to the airport than the cab drivers right out front. Facility fee is high considering no in room coffee/snack bar, no rooftop bar, and restaurant/bar downstairs was loud, packed and very young.
    • Terrible service at front desk. Person who gets the bag made me get my own bag from the back room & was very rude & unprofessional.
    • Booked for the King room and sent us to a queen room without letting us know. The staff overcharged my card $500 and I caught her and she acted like nothing had happened. We complained about the charge, and they said she would fix it when we checked out.

Location, character of the building, nice staff

I missed the restaurant that used to be there. New owners need to improve a few things. Step over tub with lack of grab bars for senior traveler. Great coffee shops nearby.

The location. Easy to all transportation and restaurants

It wasn¿t that clean. The staff were horrible. They were rude, lack knowledge of their hotel and surrounding areas. They never smiled except for the door man. Basically had to wait 2.5 hours for a blanket. It didn¿t arrive until almost 12am.NEVER AGAIN

    Eclectic charm and friendly staff.

I had to walk to Dunkin for a cup of coffee in the mornings. Hotel coffee service doesn¿t start until 7 and there wasn¿t a coffee maker in the room. Also, the pictures online made it appear the hotel has a quaint little bar. It doesn¿t.

The location was perfect and the staff was super nice. The room and bathroom were bigger than expected for NYC.

It didn't have a restaurant or bar attached. I think it is under renovation. But that was the only negative.

Location was perfect for us. Also LOVED the artistic theme.

The lobby felt more like a dirty club than a hotel.

    10RonaldPosted on: 11-5-2017

Loved every aspect of the hotel. The location 10+ the front deck attitude 10+ the modern designs 10+ Would recommend and want to stay here again and again.

Not a thing. We didn't look for negatives. And none jumped out.

The staff were all terrific. the bell man was so helpful, as was the front desk gal on the desk Friday afternoon. - hotel employee I cannot recall her name, Im afraid.

Very convenient location, allowed us to check in early. Room was clean and well maintained although there was no tv remote to be found but they did send one to our room.

Biggest complaint is the complimentary regular coffee in the lobby ran out before the 10:30am cutoff. In general, the hotel was nice enough but something felt off, desk staff just did not seem too eager to assist.

Super cool clean and close to UN

Room so noisy I couldn't sleep!!! What's the point of a hotel room when the only priority when it comes down to it is to sleep!!

    6Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 6-14-2017

    location is perfect

Front desk staff were unfriendly. Room was literally built next to a parking garage and noisy all night. Some other noise came out of pipes.

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 6-13-2017

First and foremost I enjoyed the literary and artistic history of the hotel. The location, just a hat throw off Grand Central, is also exquisite.

The hotel is in the heart of Manhattan, it does get slightly noisy at times. The hotel, as a part of the Curio collection, is a bit quirky and does not feel like a four star one. The reception staff was quite preoccupied with each other during our stay.

    10KarenPosted on: 6-13-2017

King suite is so charming. Hardwood floors, great decor. Felt like our own apartment. It's New York so it's small but fantastic. Close to Grand Central so easy to get around. Walk to Empire State Bldg & Chrysler Bldg. Bar/Restaurant in hotel.

    10JohnPosted on: 6-6-2017

It's just a beautiful small hotel. Historic. Nicely renovated and cared for. The room was not huge, but it was very well designed with just what is needed and no more.

There was not a lot of storage space. Plenty for me for a short stay, but more difficult for two people and more stuff.

    10JamesPosted on: 5-9-2017

Wonderful staff! I was greeted at the door, checked in promptly, bags taken to the room, given a brief description of the hotel history and features of the room. Beautiful, spacious quarters. Ideal location 2 blocks south of Grand Central. Highest marks!

    Nothing; it was perfect!

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 5-1-2017

I think it was hotel employee at the reception who booked us a limo for the Journey back to jfk. That was a nice surprise. I will definitely come back. Wonderful experience!

There wasn't a coffeemaker in the room. That's never happened to me before in a hotel!

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 5-1-2017

Great rooms, great location. Great restaurant in hotel.

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 4-24-2017

I loved the location, decor, ambiance of the hotel. The staff was friendliness and helpful, who checked me in, was particular helpful to me.

The walls were kind of thin. So I slept with my TV on to minimize the noise.
