    Pros +

    • Service is excellent. Bed is comfortable. Sofa, chair and table are perfect. Bathroom well appointed and very clean.
    • Fabulous large bath! Front desk staff are brilliant. Spacious rooms. Cosy yet spacious lounge. Close to all the bookshops and other NYC spots I enjoy.
    • The location is a must! Walkable to a lot of different places: Russ and daughters, flippers, bubby’s, Dominic Ansel, sweet rehab, Buba and amazing clothing stores too. I picked this place because of the location and where I wanted to go. We did not try the food at their restaurant but heard it was really good. On our first day, we were welcomed with fresh fruits and a box of cookies from Laduree. The hotel also provides free bottle of water and if you ask, which I did not know, they will bring you a Nespresso machine in your room so you can make yourself a cup of coffee. In the room, the sodas and juices in the fridge were free as well as the snacks in the basket which was a really nice touch. I reserved a room facing the courtyard and it was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable, the TV in the room was huge! In the bathroom, the hotel’s products are amazing and the hotel provides a lot of towels too.

    Cons -

    • First of all, this is a true luxury hotel and high priced even for New York. but to me generally worth it. At this price though, you should be able to cast from your iPad or phone. I didn’t see a way. And the shaving mirror is not useful at all .The X00 rooms are bad unless you like a door that opens right at the bed. This room was noisy, unusual for this place. The safe was tucked into the floor of the closet so the luggage rack doesn’t fit inside. There was no room service from Sunday evening through Monday at 7…I stay here in part so I can get coffee early when I want it. One elevator was out. Leaving a note in my room is not adequate notice about a key benefit. The front desk guy made me coffee somehow which speaks to the level of service. But not the same. If the restaurant has to close, tell me when I check in and ask me what I need.
    • I love most things about The Mercer. I wonder sometimes if the cafe staff could be a bit more receptive and attentive.
    • The bathroom was really small, not a lot of place to put our stuffs. I went with my mum who is old and the toilet where to close to the shower and it was difficult to access.

a very thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, quiet and gracious room even if small. delightful welcome spread with water, nuts, dried fruit and la duree cookies. a very comfortable bed and premium “ahhhhh” linens. a small sofa and table for working or dining. superior lighting that’s easy to control. temperature controlled, elegant shower. premium soaps and shampoo. large tv. extraordinary service…you can get a cappuccino at 530 am in 10 minutes in a city where if a hotel has room service of any kind, you can;t get anything before 7 or even 8. food arrives quickly and it’s excellent. a metal key…not a plastic card…reminds you this hotel is tangibly better. yes. it’s more expensive but you don’t feel gouged or robbed because the premium feels worth it

an otherwise perfect experience nicked slightly by an inadequate shaving mirror. a 15x mirror is needed.

Breakfasts were excellent and in an enjoyable setting.

The room was rather sparse for the price. The bathroom was very nice, but the rest of the space was small and the furnishings were not that great.

Super location! Horrible coffee! Great bed, rest of furniture below par for the price. Super staff!

I love staying at The Mercer whenever I’m in New York. Location, super staff, perfect rooms, extra perfect baths, relaxing lounge. Some afternoons I don’t even go out!

Easier access to porterage out of regular hours would be nice.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Mercer. The staff are definitely the highlight (shout out to Joshua) in how friendly and helpful they are. It’s nice that the lobby is just for guests. The room was spacious and they welcomed me with a cookie from Laduree! You can also book a small gym room to work out in, or go to the partner gym if you want something more elaborate. Location is excellent too.

I can’t really think of anything.

Everything. The attention to detail was exceptional & the team displayed outstanding customer service. The best example of this was on arrival by taxi, my card was rejected for payment & I didn't have sufficient cash. Doorman Jacob suddenly appeared & paid with his own money to settle the fair. Just incredible!

Could not have been any better!
