Nice building

No soap in the bath, could have had more light options and the service fee of $50 was a bit much

Hotel adds an additional charge of $50 a night for a destination fee that was not disclosed prior to booking.

House keeping threw away important documents on my table. Missed refilling lotion and soap. Cleaning person at the gym use guest faced towels to wipe the entire floor with their feet. I would prefer not to use rags as face towels...

Beds comfortable

Broken bathtub and shower head, dusty in corners, sneezing .

I was charge $500 for a smoking fee that was slipped into my bill without telling me bout it. We were travelling on family trip and none of us smoke. The hotel were very condescending and refused to find a solution. Never again!

Nice hotel -- 24 hour desk and spacious lobby. Wine hour is nice in the afternoon.

Rooms are tight -- not a lot of room for luggage. No hooks to hang clothing or wet towels or wet coats. No place to stash stuff you don't want to trip over. I also did not like the fact I now have to track down why I was charged 2x for the same room!!

Hidden window meant sleeping in was easy -- it was always dark.

Hidden $50/day fee on top of hotel room rate AND fees already collected at booking.

The kindness of the stuff, I really was gladly surprised of all the good treatment received. After 4h travel to get there but to early for most hotels nowadays, they were care and did my check in before the time I was told! Which means a lottt to me.

Everything was excellent, just I would like a better view for a longer stay

Location is great. Close to lots of attractions but street is nice and quiet.

No in-room coffee. No automatic door to enter hotel, making it difficult to haul suitcase up stairs and open door.

Location and amenities such as wine in the lounge, excellent restaurant..

The James is currently having a lot of issues which appear to be systemic and I¿m afraid that it¿s not a safe place for pets or individuals with disabilities.

The front desk staff was fantastic.

My room was entered while I was away and items went missing others damaged or just gone. Upon asking the staff where they had taken my property I was told they don¿t have any of my things. Hotel has refused to even attempt to resolve this issue.

No real window. It was internal and frosted

Location was great

Lobby closing at 11pm but really closed well before that on a Friday night. Shower and as lukewarm the first day, ok the rest.

Great location, beautiful building. Enjoyed dinner at Scarpetta and drinks at Seville. Will be staying again.

Wish they served breakfast, but so many places nearby to grab a bagel/breakfast.

It was a great location and the room was huge by NYC standards. Being able to get room service breakfast felt luxurious.

The steps out in front were a little challenging with the storm door.
