414 Hotel

The room was large and spacious compared to the ones normally here in NYC.

Bugs in the room like some of the other reviews stated, you have to ring a bell to enter the Hotel and wait for someone to open the door. Wifi is iffy and the Bed it moved and had a dent on one side. Plastic Spoons and Knives available, but no Forks?

Location

Everything other than location. Our room was dirty and did not have a shower curtain or toilet paper in the room when we arrived. We didn’t have high expectations, but it was BAD. I would never recommend this hotel. EVER.

The hotel was very conveniently located to many attractions within walking distance. The coffee flavor selection in the morning was wonderful too. I also appreciated that the ac was on and our room was cold when we arrived after a hot day outside walking.

The bed was a bit hard in my opinion. My husband didn’t mind it so 🤷‍♀️

The location is great - not on a main drag but super close to the theater district and Times Square.

1) This hotel is incredibly unsafe for solo female travelers. The rooms are accessed by codes, which is just the room number + 0. Any other guest in the hotel would know how to access your room. 2) The water was brown. I had to check-out early.

Hard-working, maid, location.

Complete disaster, checking in. No on-site manager, finally reached someone by phone who told me and two other confirmed guests that he canceled our reservations and had no room for any of us. Three hours later, after much arguing, One got a room.

Price and locataion

The fact that they had no room for me when I arrived, myself along with 2 other guests sat in a waiting area looking for someone to help with the situation. No front desk worker, no manager, no one to call except for the maid who spoke no English.

All you could ask for in a NY hotel. Small room but clean, well maintained. Large bathroom (for premiere room); shower had plenty of hot water and pressure. Very friendly, accommodating staff. Actually nice breakfast each morning. Held our bags last day.

This was not a problem for us, but it's a "walk up". If you don't know what that means, it means no elevator. So you're walking up and down several flights of stairs.

Love the character, the location, the free breakfast and cocktail hour.
