    Pros +

    • How close it was to Central Park and the subway station.
    • Excellent location and great value. Also, I liked the capsule setup which allows for more privacy in hostel setting.
    • Clean and affordable. I love the privacy of the little pod. I've stayed here about 5 or 6 times. I always get the 2 person room, meaning only one other person might be booked in the same room.

    Cons -

    • The only issue was the loud radiator banging at 6am when the heaters were coming on. I had no idea they were so loud so I highly recommend ear plugs.
    • Not really anything.
    • Had a rude receptionist once, but maybe she no longer works there. Every other stay has been great, including my most recent stay.

The lobby had a nice clean cafe. I also loved the fresh filtered water fountain for refilling a personal water bottle.

There was a little bit of confusion with the fact that the individual pods do not lock. However, there is a locker in each room for your personal belongings.

I liked that I was in a two-person room, so it felt private

When I got there, the bathroom directly across from my room was completing renovation and at the time there were only girls using the bathroom. The all of a sudden a fe days later they change it to men. It was very inconvenient.

Location is everything when traveling and this hotel is just outside all the noise but close to the subway. Waking up next to Central Parkand starting the day with a walk is everything

Nothing. The racism and hate from the the white customer which were allowed by the staff made the experience horrendous

The building was matched the neighborhood well

    1NikPosted on: 2-19-2026

The staff was very racist. I am a Black American male. My first roommate was a young white lady. She was moving all night in the bed an uncomfortable. We never spoke. Apparently she asked for a room change. My second roommate was a white middle aged man. I arrived around 11pm. I had to prepare my luggage for possible early flight. I moved very lightly. He started screaming. I said my apologies it will take 15 minutes. I finished in ten minutes. I left my room at 1am. I am writing a physiology book. I didn’t return to my room till 9am. The guy is 6’3 and angry. He started yelling at me about where was I at all night. He was angry. I said I was working on a book I am a physician. He was hateful. He said I couldn’t be a doctor and stop lying. Now I am really seeing how ignorant and racist he is. He goes to the front desk. He starts yelling at me in front of the staff. She does nothing. He lied. Said he was afraid of me because I had 2 dumbbells. He considered calling the police. I was shocked. Now I have a white staff lady kicking me out because two white people complained and I know for sure the white man is lying. Then he is in my face. Pointing his fingers in my face. I am waiting on her to tell him to calm down but she doesn’t. She listens to his lies despite the anger and hate he is yelling. He was very concerned where I was for 8 hours. I was writing in the lobby. The staff knew I was there all night It was such a toxic event filled with lies and hate. I could not believe the staff ignored this man’s hate and bullying me in front of her. This is the most racist hostel/ hotel I have ever been at or experienced.

The staff are racist and allowed their guess to make accusations and be abusive to me. I was quiet. I was calm. I was considered. The hate and disrespect and calling me a liar because I am a physician and didn’t want to spend money on a hotel was beyond demonic. No guess should be able to treat another gas in that manner with staff present

    Was ok but beware of...

I had breakfast on the booking, when I asked about it the reception said they had no breakfast option.Although I paid in advance, at the check in the reception was asking about my card details. After saying that I had breakfast, they brought almost frozen bagels without anything (no butter, jam, cheese) - only bagel and coffee. Then in my last days they had butter and so on. But first day, they had no toaster, nothing to spread on bagel and so on. They had a weird bottle labelled as “butter” which was not looking okay at all. I communicated this and they said this is NORMAL and days after they changed and had a normal basic bagel and cheese set up. Cleaning lady was so kind and cheerful!

Short distance to subway , from 106 st to 103 st where is the subway.

With that price tag you can find a hotel in midtown Manhattan , this is a shared small room and bathroom.

    6KashingPosted on: 2-8-2026

    Pleasant

Fan inside the pod was stuck on full as soon as you put your card in. It was loud so couldn't use the other features without that running constantly.Heating can't be adjusted inside the room so it got very hot throughout the night.

    The bed

You need to have an elevator, there 5 levels and people that come are travelers with luggage.I have a back problem and it was awful

Did not eat at the hostel. The bathroom was deluxe. i had to borrow a hairdryer. No tissue box in the room. For a $300 room, i would expect to have these amenities.

    see above.

The night was hard. It was impossible to sleep because of the lack of soundproofing. You could hear people going to the restroom at night. Everything creaked, the doors closed with a bang. My bed, with the slightest desire to change position, created noise and crackling, from which everyone in the room suffered. I also heard all these noises from my neighbor, who was trying to fall asleep and was tossing and turning.

    10RosadellePosted on: 1-19-2026

The premises were great, the staff is amazing, the neighborhood is absolutely beautiful and very easy to get to midtown and downtown.

    8RosePosted on: 1-19-2026

I loved the idea of having a cover on each bunk bed. It helped with noise control.

I wished I knew that its a bunk bed. I wished I could request for lower bed. I have pain on both of my knees. It was hard for me to climb up.

Clean, good price. Quiet neighborhood and friendly staff. Hotel quiet overall. Pods well appointed and surprisingly comfortable.

Entering the codes into the dorm room locks is very loud. Could hear them all through the night, not just entering the room I was in but the other doors down the hallway. The hostel should look into a quieter way to open the dorm rooms.

I arrived on Thanksgiving and was met with a truly delicious Thanksgiving feast that the hostel provided the guests with that evening. It was a very nice surprise! The vibe of the hostel is to include everyone and they hosted an event at a nearby rooftop bar that many attended after the meal. Everyone here was very friendly, both guests and employees. The beds are pod-like with sliding doors, ventilation you control, a light and electrical sockets. The subway was nearby and although the shared kitchen was small, there was enough to prepare meals.

The room was a little old and could have used some paint but it wasn't a big deal.
