Pros +
- Location and ease of checkin.
- Location? We like the West Village.
- I have been looking forward to staying at the Jane for quite some time. Even though I knew when I booked that it was being renovated I wasn¿t really prepared for the amazing state that the hotel was in. It should not be open in this state.
Cons -
- Shower cleanliness.
- Rodents in the hall, not even a plastic glass provided in the room, indifferent staff, dirty. No attempt to provide a decent experience for the guests. It's just to create a cash flow during renovations. The hotel is being turned into a private club.
- What a mess. Close it till Reno actions are complete.

I HAVE STAYED HERE MANY TIMES A M OST ATMOSPHERIC HOTEL, HAVE ANY TRAVEL INDUSTY PERSONS STAYED IN THE VARIOUS ROOMS? AT ONE TIME THE BAR WAS A GOOD MEETING SPOT NOW SHUT TO GUESTS. THE STANDARD HOTEL SEEMS TO HAVE REELED IN THE AREA
THE ROOM CARPETS NEED A SHAMPOO STICKY CARPET
Courteous service, reasonable pricing, shared bathroom facilities that appeared to be cleaned on a regular basis
The mattress was incredibly thin, and sleep did not come easily
The bellhop who helped with our bags. He was the best part of the whole experience.
The mattresses felt like when you lay a blanket on the floor and sleep on it as a kid. Very uncomfortable. The room next to us had someone smoking cigarettes that seeped into our room and especially the hallway. We could hear him hacking and door slamming
Location, the staff and the energy of people staying at the hotel
Cleanliness and the HOT room. Disco NYC radiator heat that you cant control so that combined with the size of the rooms¿
Clean convenience and price
Location
Can¿t recommend cheaper rooms for solo female travelers. The bathrooms are mixed gender communal group rooms (as in one room with two toilets, two sinks, two showers). I assumed mixed gender single shower/bathroom combos, which is not the case.
Very charming hotel at a great location and a good price. The manager,  is a gem and makes sure everyone has a good experience.
Charming, off beat set-up, a cross betwn a hotel & hostel in historic building, w/variety of room lay-outs that will accommodate most every budget. Staff was welcoming from check-in to check-out. Area surrounding the place is ¿trending¿ & safe.
Location and uniqueness and the shower!
Mattress is more like a cot or sleeper sofa, not comfortable. No coffee available.
Ambiance! Historic hotel with beautiful charm. Location! Easy to get to the West Village. Loved walking the Hudson Greenway. Welcoming! The staff is wonderful. They are friendly and responsive to your needs. The Jane is now my go-to spot to stay.
The only downside for this hotel is that it's a hike to the subway. However, there are so many amazing things to do in walking distance! The Hudson Greenway is literally across the street. Within a few blocks are art museums, The High Line, and great food
Bellhops and convenience and price, sort of.
NYC is still expensive but that's not really The Jane's fault. { I note below that it says I am from Norwalk, CT -- I am not from there at all but from Wheeling, WV]
Very affordable, great staff, clean, good amenities
Rooms are small. You should know what you're getting when you reserve but when you're actually in the room, it's quite tight. It would be a tough ask for more than a few nights.
I was not informed when booking the hotel that the club would be closed off due to a private event. If I had known I would have changed my booking dates. I really enjoy the Jane club, and was hoping to celebrate my birthday there.
The location of the hotel is great. Really cute restaurant onsite. Stayed in a bunk room and the beds are surprisingly comfortable.
The hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. It is supposed to be a no smoking hotel but it doesn't seem to be enforced.
Location and Price
Rooms are uncomfortable. No soundproofing
The hotel is in an excellent location, is very reasonable in price, and the staff members were friendly. We were prepared for the room to be very small, so no surprise there. The shared bathroom and shower stalls were clean, and near our room.
Amazing location and amazing price. Room was a good size for the price. Loved the view from the roof.
Bedsheets were ripped and was a bit noisy through the walls.
