It was close enough to Bismarck and Minot to make a quick overnight getaway. I appreciate it that it was on the outskirts of new town, while still being close enough to get things or go to the casino if needed. Close to subway and gas station

Location and the set up of the room.
Bathroom was dirty. There were hairs on the floor, tub and soap dish. Heating in the room was off. Breakfast ommelettes and potatoes were overcooked and dry. There was a lot of snow accumulated around the entrance doors and parking lot.

Top Tips
- Book 2-3 months ahead during the fourth quarter to reduce costs, as oil activity drives a 20-30% price surge.
- Factor in the 7-10% total lodging tax, higher than the national average, by requesting an itemized bill for your stay.
- Verify Wi-Fi speeds for remote work; rural hotels average 10-25 Mbps, so test upon arrival and plan for potential 1-2 hour storm-related outages.
- Prepare for extreme winter by requesting heated rooms (68-72°F) to counter January lows of -10°F to -20°F, noting that 60% of properties lack step-free access beyond ground floors.
- Use ATMs strategically at bank-affiliated locations like Wells Fargo to avoid out-of-network fees averaging $15 per transaction.
