The Econo Lodge Inn & Suites East is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 74 and State Route 51. It is convenient to the Charlotte area and only minutes from Ovens Auditorium, Bojangles Coliseum, Queens University of Charlotte, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Wingate University. The Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is 20 miles away. Visitors can enjoy browsing a wide variety of antique and specialty shops at Cannon Village, Waxhaw Village and local malls. There are several restaurants and cocktail lounges located in the surrounding area. Special features and amenities include free continental breakfast and free coffee in the lobby. There is a Fun Center within walking distance of the hotel. This hotel offers business travelers conveniences like free wireless high-speed Internet access in all rooms, computer hookups, access to fax services, work desks and competitive corporate rates. All guest rooms feature coffee makers and cable television. In addition, microwaves, refrigerators, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards are provided upon request. - It was available. That's it...
- Just about the only positive things I could say were the gentleman that checked me in was nice and helpful, and the rooms were spacious
- Location. Manager was kind enough to call me when I accidentally took a bath towel rather than just bill me for it.
Cons -
- Dust, dirt and grime in all the corners, the A/C was covered in dust. Bathroom ceiling paint was peeling constantly and fell off as it heated up. Refrigerator smells and freezes everything, including all the coating in the fridge rotting off. There's more
- Dirty. Mold in the fridge. Toilet, tub and sink were all clogged. I ended up fixing all that myself. Floor was disgusting. No slip stuff in the tub is flaking off. Plugs won't stay in outlets. Take your money elsewhere you'll be glad you did.
- Dusty, old room. Bed felt like it was still in a cardboard box. Parking lot had craters big enough to swallow a small car. $25 CHARGE at check in (room was pre paid). It will be interesting to see if they take it off. Paid way too much for this place.
