Trailborn Highlands, Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy is a redesigned and renovated 63-room hotel in Highlands, North Carolina. The property is surrounded by 4.5 acres of lush woods and includes The Highlands Supper Club — a stand-alone restaurant housed in a historic Joe Webb log cabin, a renowned local, 20th century builder. Our hotel is located just a few miles from some of the best waterfalls, rock climbing, bird watching, and fly fishing in the region. It’s a 10-minute walk from downtown Highlands, which is full of romantic restaurants, antique shops, outdoor stores, ice cream, coffee, and more.

Pros +
- Very clean with friendly and courteous staff. Great location. Newly renovated with new and pretty furnishings.
- Beautiful area/location and very close to the "downtown". Rooms were not updated but very quant and I loved the fireplace. Bed was extremely comfortable! Quiet and peaceful location as well.
- I liked how it was close to town but was still away from the main traffic so it was nice and quiet during our stay.
Cons -
- Limited breakfast currently , but opening full service restaurant in near future.
- Bare minimum in terms of "extras" (i.e., soap is provided and there is shampoo and conditioner but no bodywash). Not much to do in the area but that's to be expected. Finally, make sure you bring food because you can't get anything after like 10PM lol.
- They don¿t offer breakfast anymore. It was also very dark in the hotel. The light in the elevator was struggling to even stay on.

I liked how it was close to town but was still away from the main traffic so it was nice and quiet during our stay.

Location
No coffee in the morning. Asked front desk staff twice. They were not interested in assisting. Housekeeping came into the room before checkout without knocking first.
