The breakfast provided had some healthy options and a few gluten free options as well.
Cleanliness of the hotel and room. Location. Breakfast. Courteous and friendly staff. Well managed. Attention to detail.

Cons -

The front desk staff didn't stay at the desk in the mornings. Often times, they would go into the office and guests would have to go behind the desk and peek into the office to get their attention. Having a bell would be helpful.
Power was lost for 18 hours. Backup generator? Safety lights on the stairwell only lasted 4 hours. If someone fell down those stairs you'd have a lawsuit. Breakfast was passable, I've had better in the Marines while deployed. NO WATER, sanitation issue.

The breakfast bar was superb! The room/bathroom were very clean. Bed very comfortable. Quiet location very near Carl Sandburg home and downtown Flat Rock.
