St James Hotel

Love this place - we've stayed there many times. The restaurant is excellent and the service from everyone is exceptional.

I'd love it if they started installing the shower canisters to eliminate some of the waste with the single use soaps and shampoos.

Way over priced for the accommodations. Restaurant very disappointing. Very small room for the price.

The Victorian feel mixed with modern conveniences.

I thought their Scarlet room restaurant was charmless and the food subpar. The bar downstairs was dark but interesting.

Bed was comfortable

The weird and confusing elevator system to get to the parking garage. Very odd noises in the room like a loud creaking caused by the HVAC system Woke me up. No total price on the bill. Very expensive Took forever to get hot water.

Great location for experiencing Red Wing, MN. Beautiful historic hotel makes your stay feel special.

The mattress was very comfortable. The building is beautiful. The staff at the front desk was friendly.

We weren't able to sit at the rooftop outdoor restaurant. We apparently needed a reservation in the middle of the afternoon.

The bar downstairs and the breakfast food was awesome!

The old uncomfortable beds and that there was no fridge in the room.

So clean, large room, comfortable bed and linens were divine!

The only issue....no in restaurant experience on Mondays. Room service was available, and we used it for drinks. There was not a drink menu in the room, and we would have appreciated more examples of Monday dining in Red Wing. We were given only one p.

The location is great, easy to get anywhere. We loved the historic experience and character of the building, and room.

I did not like that we heard loud music until 10 pm. Location of our room? I was disappointed that we had to wait around to check in since our room wasn't ready. The restaurant did not deliver a positive experience, ate there once.

Location, Character, different than most hotels. Loved the new restaurant called The Scarlett Kitchen. Front desk staff very kind and professional. Bed very comfortable. Loved the robes.

Our favorite bar, The Jimmy, was closed. There was no TV service in the entire building due to their service provider, which I feel should have never happened.

Nothing was working. Internet website deceptive, No discount offered. Never go here.

We love the location of the hotel. It was within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants and bars.

Room was decorated nicely and the bed was confortable.

At check in they did not inform us that the room would not be cleaned for a two night stay. The coffee supply was not replenished. It was impossible to make a restaurant reservation because all calls went to voicemail. TV did not work.

Great location to the river and down town activities.

Would always like to pay less but hotel was great. We ate supper at the hotel and that was very good.

It has a great location overlooking the Mississippi River, and also a perfect location for exploring Red Wing on foot. It is also fun to read the historical exhibits along the walls in the hotel.

The historic nature of the hotel was nice.

The "King Suite" we stayed in was not worth the money. The bathroom was very small and it was basically just a large room with a king bed in it. I expected a lot more for the price.

The decor was wonderful. The location was perfect. Tons to do within walking distance.

The room was quite small and while it is Victorian decorated, it lacked appeal and could nicely updated with similar style. No place in bathroom for personal toiletries. Simple over the toilet organizer would have helped. Very awkward room layout.

Sometimes vintage hotels lack amenities. The St James was wonderfully appointed. The beds, pillows and linens were especially good.

Had great customer service. Food was good. Bed was good.

It was laid off rather Different and directions weren't super easy. It was a historic building so I guess you have to forgive them a bit.
