    Pros +

    • Everything was top-notch. The extra touch was blowing the snow off my car in the morning. Those extra little touches absolutely set it apart thank you 1000 times and we will be back!
    • It is a beautiful castle from the outside, grounds well kept
    • The front deck staff was nice.

    Cons -

    • When I booked it looked like my room had two stories and had a sauna and hot tub and when I got there we had the Victorian suite which was nice but had none of those things so I was a little confused.
    • Spotlight pointed directly at bedroom window, room lit up all night. Had to walk thru bathroom to get into bedroom. Door to bathroom would not latch closed for privacy as they had the deadbolt lock in the out position permanently. Maple tree room so small
    • I ended up leaving after a hour. The hotel is dirty and there were ALOT of maintenance issues throughout. I will be disputing my stay cost.

    Old-fashioned, antique feel.

There was old food from previous guests under our bed. The furniture in the room was all broken. The coffee machine was dirty.

    2Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 11-17-2020

    The Bed was good.

Run down. Overpriced for the quality for sure. Food is mediocre at best. Breakfast was a joke. I was embarrassed for them. Grounds look like a junk yard or trash dump

Tons of character. Unique. Free parking. Some of the staff were exceptionally kind.

Didn't get the room we had booked & paid extra for. Had to figure that out ourselves later (Clerk didn't tell us). She seemed very annoyed to deal with us at all. Would have been nice if she spent a moment to show us where the heat was. Slept with none.

It is quaint and in a nice location. It is very old, which was expected. Pretty. Came from Chicago area for a college visit early the next day.

Cottage A was tight.Pull-out bed didn't have a top sheet-I specifically confirmed that the bed was made & ready.Comforter was in the closet, which was ok. The a/c unit is in the sitting room so bedroom was hot. Mold on bottom of shower curtain.

It was a charming experience. The staff was pleasant. I would recommend it to friends based on the location, the ambiance, and the chills you may experience from the ghost stories.

Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely antique charm!

Maple Tree Room was a little small and missed having a shower.

The staff was excellent, friendly, and helpful.

I was very disappointed with the breakfast. An inn owned and operated by a professional chef with a lovely French name should be ashamed to serve croissants that tasted like store bought white bread and the dry, burnt scrambled eggs were inexcusable!

Beautiful old home and great location.

As with any structure that's over 100 years old, there were a few things that could have been better... Our sink dripped all night, the antique bed was terribly squeaky and the hot tub was out of service.

    The location

There was an odor of urine in the room. There were a lot of dead and live bugs.

    The historic charm

The TV kept glowing at night. I do realise that most guest wish to have TV in the room. Perhaps a good, low cost solution would be some sort of " curtain" to hide the TV. Maybe some guests like me also like the feel of being immersed in the past sans TV.

Very charming and historical hotel/home, my room was lovely (The Italian Room), and the hot tub on the roof is amazing. The complimentary breakfast is also very nice!

Incredible historical building. You really step back in time. Very friendly staff. Awesome omelette.

A bit noisy. Bar should stay open until 10. Breakfast during the week needs to start before 730.

Very cool architecture and history. Staff was fantastic--extremely helpful and attentive. Lovely outdoor seating. Nice place to sit & have a drink.

Mattresses weren't the most comfortable but tolerable. V

The Manson is beautiful, the room was nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We had the room Miracle and the bathroom was strange because when you turned on the shower, the whole bathroom got wet including the towels we tried to put out of the way. I would not get that room again.

Lovely place. If you enjoy history this is the place for you. Close to downtown, WMU, and Kalamazoo College. We enjoyed the breakfast and the hot tub on the roof.
