Mackinaw Beach and Bay Inn & Suites

Great location, great view

I was given a different room than advertised, and told I could receive a special promotion for just $100 to recieve the room shown in the advertisement.

It's somewhat in need of a few repairs. Overall pretty good

We had a colony of ants. The cable TV didn’t work. We had food on the floor that we never brought into the hotel. They didn’t replenish our towels or change our bed any of the days that we were there.

The rooms were large, and the beds were pretty comfortable

No snacks other than the vending machines..

I was nervous after reading some reviews, but i was very pleased with thestay! The location was great and the firework display was an unexpected suprise with front row seats. I would would love to shout out the receptionest as she was the best!

The only con i have about the hotel is that the beds were hard, so bring a pillowtop.

The view from the room was lovely. The location of the property was a definite plus, as it was conveniently situated just 5-10 minutes away from various attractions. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which helped improve our stay.

The room was not clean, with noticeable webs and bugs present. The windows were also dirty and filled with live insects, which was quite off-putting. The bathroom was in need of updating; it was falling apart, with ceiling tiles hanging loosely.

Dust, disrepair in lobby bathrooms, first building as you pull into parking lot has broken blinds and the building itself needs a good powerwaaj

We were able to upgrade for a reasonable amount to a lake view room. The way the room was constructed allowed for a lot of privacy.

There were water bottles left in the room from the previous occupants making us wonder about the cleanliness.

Rate, large room, soft bed, on the beach

I balcony should be part of the cleaning schedule, or at least provide a broom to sweep away the dead bugs. Bugs are plentiful in the UP so being able to sweep the dead ones away would be nice

The staff was excellent. Very polite and friendly at check-in. Upgraded us to water view. While an older property, there were updates where important, and the rooms were clean. The balcony wad an excellent bonus with an excellent view. Great location!

Only thing that the hotel could add that would be nice would be USB jacks in the room. A small detail, but something you miss when it's not there.

Location is amazing

The staff was rude. Also when we booked our confirmation says check-in is 3pm but once there found out it isn't until 4pm. So I recommend calling before going

Room with a beautiful view

Unfortunately no breakfast. Room could use a little more attention on cleaning but overall a nice stay.

Water front and friendly staff

It was disgusting. Saw black mold by the pool area. Tons of little things in the room in desperate need of repair. The balcony area seemed like it was never cleaned of tons of spider webs and dead fish flies. There was walls patched all over the room.

The location was great¿ right next to the ferry for the island. The beach access was convenient and fun for kids.

The room could use an update.
