    Pros +

    • Nothing except it is close to downtown Northampton.
    • Simple, well appointed rooms, stylish. Very convenient to Northampton, Smith College.
    • Charming, understated, friendly staff, great location

    Cons -

    • This hotel is advertised as a dog friendly hotel. Upon arrival you have to pay a $35 fee and you are not allowed to leave the dog alone in the hotel room. I believe this is something that should’ve been communicated prior to booking.
    • My brother checked in on a Monday, fell in his room that night and was taken by ambulance to the nearby hospital. We called on Thursday to find out where he was but they refused to confirm his whereabouts! Then the hospital called us later that day.
    • Walls were very thin between our room and the room next to us, so could hear the family next to us easily. This was only complaint. Otherwise great experience.

The location to Northampton was good. Parking was convenient. Nice neighborhood. The staff was friendly and helpful.

It's tired. The lobby smells musty. The carpeting is dirty and stained in the hall and in the rooms. The bathroom needs remodeling. The breakfast was sparsely provisioned. I thought it was overpriced for the experience. I would not return.

    Location and ground level floor.

Room showed signs of wear and tear and is not conducive to the rate they charge. I believe for the quality of this room it was overpriced by $35 for the night.

    Very lovely pool area

Room and the main inn had a very musty odor that was difficult to get used too. And the beds were too soft for my liking.

    1VasilikiPosted on: 7-19-2017

The pool was not open. The a/c did not work during a heat wave. Th There were not enough fans!

    Please see above.

The breakfasts were nice. Room was very old, dark and small. Picture led me to believe we were be staying in a 2 story bldg. but instead it was just a normal motel row of rooms next to the 2 story bldg.

If you're looking for an independent hotel, like the idea of getting away from the Marriott-Starwood-Hyatt-Hilton formula, Autumn Inn is a nice choice. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.

The decor here is from a different era. This is mid-range hotel decorating circa 30 years ago, except the TV takes up less space.

    6Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 4-10-2017

Staff was friendly. It was inexpensive. The continental breakfast was great.

Everything needs updating. The room was very musty on check in.

    5JoannePosted on: 4-4-2017

The best was very comfortable and it was in a very pretty location.

It definitely wasn't a 3-star hotel in my eyes. I don't like having to enter my room from the street. My TV didn't work and the breakfast was limited.

Loved the fireplace. Staff friendly. Good breakfast. Comfy bed

    Location.

Very small bathroom. Creaky bed and musty smell in room.

    2Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 2-28-2017

Staff were OK in person, not at all helpful on the phone

It's not a three-star hotel! Furniture is random, looks plucked from the 1970s. Wifi doesn't work, and staff had no clue about it. (There's one router by the front desk, signal doesn't reach many of the rooms.) It's a 3rd-rate B&B

    7Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 2-25-2017

Spacious clean room and bathroom, good lighting. Their continental spread was good though very carby - don't plan on getting much protein and not good for gluten-free guests.

It's an old building so the walls are thin; you can hear others in the hall very clearly (and they, you). There are also not enough electrical outlets - bring a power strip!

    5Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 2-24-2017

    Good location

Smells old and badly needs an upgrade. Not visibly dirty at least.

    6MikePosted on: 2-7-2017

The Hotel is located right next to Smith College and is close to downtown. The breakfast area had a nice wood fireplace. The buffet was typical not by any means exceptional.

The lobby had a slight musty smell. The rooms are decorated in dated style. We could hear people in the hallway outside our room; luckily it was not an all night thing. The rooms are heated with electric baseboard heating which tends to be very dry.

    6TimothyPosted on: 2-7-2017

The room was a comfortable temperature and it was somewhat close to places of interest. The continental breakfast was acceptable, and there was free parking.

It's more or less a motel, and it is fairly old.

    6Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 1-23-2017

    Nothing special

Under bed hasn't been vacumed in a while. Dropped a pen and under bed there was a pill from previous guest and other items and dust. Smelled life an old building, musty.
