Pros +
- The location was excellent for us, close to family, yet convenient to town. The siting by the lake was nicely done -- close enough to see, yet far enough not to be disturbed by boat and beech noise. One of the best 4th fireworks shows ever!
- The hotel is in a beautiful location right on a lake. Almost all the rooms have balconies with a great view! The room was reasonably clean and very comfortable with what seem to be new beds. It would be better if the room had a microwave & refrigerator.
- I¿ve never stayed at a state park, but it was an awesome first time experience. We are planning to go back in July and take our kids this time! Awesome scenery and plenty to do! Rooms were nicer than expected and staff all weekend were very friendly.
Cons -
- Though solidly built and commendably quiet, the facility is about 50 years old and suffering some maintenance neglect and up-dating wants. Put into horse language: "Rode hard and put away wet." But, the staff did their pleasant best to make things better!
- There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. Room had a sort of old wood cabin smell, but it wasn't really unpleasant. There is no elevator. The bar and restaurant's hours are somewhat limited.
- I wasn¿t a fan of the area outside of the park as I was unaware it was more of a religious setting. Also, it takes 30 minute drive to get a nice dinner meal or go to the movies.
