Just off the shores of the Mississippi River, this Victorian-style hotel features guest rooms with free Wi-Fi and cable TVs. Pikes Peak State Park is 3 miles from the property. Each room at Backwoods opens up onto a spacious porch that overlooks the bluffs and the historic buildings of Main Street. Tea and coffee-making facilities are also provided in each room. Air conditioning is provided throughout the hotel. Spook Cave and Campground is 10 miles from this hotel. Casino Queen Marquette is just 7 minute walk from the property. You must show a valid photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all special requests cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability upon check-in. Additional charges may apply. - the size of room, cleanliness and comfortable bed.

- Very quaint and comfortable accommodations. Great location.
Cons -
- no microwave but wasn't a necessity.
- The hotel room was not cleaned between guests! The bedding was not even changed, when we pulled back the blankets the sheet was filthy!
- The area was under construction/parking limited and inconvenient. There was no mention of this on their website. Bed/mattress was very old. Gap under entrance door. Over priced for what it was.
