About

The Westlake Village Inn is a place of iconic beauty and a landmark that has been 50 years in the making. Rather than stand as an entity frozen in time, we continue to gracefully evolve with our surroundings. This boutique hotel is always improving its features to ensure it remains at the highest standard for our valued guests. Enjoy a beautiful room to call home with a relaxing fireplace, garden views and free WiFi. In addition, every guest room includes a flat-screen, cable TV, Bose radio, a compact refrigerator, gourmet single-serve coffee machine and private bathroom with makeup mirror, hairdryer and free toiletries. A Mediterranean-style outdoor pool, pavilions and hot tub are located on site. A fitness center and bicycle rentals are available for guest use. Complimentary coffee, lemonade, and water are offered in the lobby. The property is home to newly redesigned, Zagat rated restaurant, Mediterraneo. This eatery brings the culinary excellence and stylish appearance of a European bistro. From brunch to dinner, and everything in between, Med is the perfect spot to bring your family, friends and colleagues for an unforgettable experience. Wind down your day with a visit to Stonehaus, a boutique enoteca reminiscent of Italy, featuring gourmet coffees, fresh pastries and an array of well-paired menu options. Relax in the gorgeous outdoor ambiance and sip delicious wine and dine on wood fired pizza. In addition, you can end the night at Bogeys Bar and Lounge. This popular nightclub features live music, craft cocktails and delicious bites. The Westlake Village Inn is only 9 miles away from Malibu and 12 miles away from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Los Angeles International Airport is 27 mi away. The property offers free parking.

Pros +

  • The staff at the front desk were very friendly nice and helpful. Love the pool and the vine covered arbors for shade on the sidewalks to get everywhere. Yoga was wonderful!
  • Food was mediocre
  • I loved the layout of the property and the service and amenities were great.

Cons -

  • The regular drip coffee at the Stonehaus was definitely lacking. Lighting could be brighter. Food and spa massage pricing were very high.
  • Unfortunately, the room we stayed in did not appear to be part of the upgraded section. The TV had very limited working channels, and the televisions do not support streaming services like Netflix or Prime. At a rate of around $335 per night, most hotels at this level have modernized their in-room technology, so this was disappointing. We ordered room service once and found it mediocre at best. The avocado toast was literally a piece of wheat toast with avocado and two slices of tomato — no seasoning, very dry, and lacking any real effort or flavor. The bathroom sliding door was also extremely difficult to open and close, which was frustrating and felt more like a maintenance issue than a design choice. One small but noticeable miss: it was raining on New Year’s Eve, and while heading to the onsite club we discovered that some guests had umbrellas in their rooms — ours did not. It’s a small detail, but one that matters at a property positioned at this level.Overall:Westlake Village Inn has a lot going for it, especially the location and atmosphere, but consistency is key. If all rooms were brought up to the same standard as the upgraded sections — particularly in terms of technology, maintenance, and room amenities — this would be a much stronger experience.

Westlake Village Inn is a beautiful property in a great location, and I’ve been here many times over the years. The grounds are lovely, and it’s clear that at least part of the hotel has been upgraded recently. We also attended the New Year’s Eve party at the onsite club, which was a really nice experience overall and a fun way to ring in the new year.
