Hotel Sunrise

The room was clean.

After a long international flight I arrived here to find the manager immediately disliked me and asked me to cancel my bookings. He said I could stay a couple of days if I promised to leave. I am a shy and soft-spoken person. I felt so uncomfortable and frightened that I left after 2 hours, and fortunately was able to book a nice hotel in a safe neighborhood. I'm very fortunate that I've never before had anyone like this hotel manager. To his credit he was at least honest and refunded me the $200 security deposit.Please be aware that you will witness street violence and drug usage right outside.

Great location! Basic hotel with comfortable bed and adequate facilities!

General interior appearance was a bit scruffy - could do with renovating.

The location and staff were excellent. The room was clean.

Valencia stays loud all night. This is not a good location for light sleepers.

Location was great, the area around has some great food and bars.The hotel was good and it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the toilet, shower in room was great

There is no lift so a few stairs to climb. Not an issue for us but just be aware

The guy on reception was so lovely (maybe he’s the owner?) and let me check in early and also leave my bags the next day when I checked out. Legend! I had just come off from 6 weeks on a boat and I was shattered so it was nice to crash. Location cool,and good for the money. Thank you

Excellent hotel! Location couldn't be better for the Bart Station to and from SFO Airport, to Oakland and Berkeley. Valencia Street for food, nightlife, entertainment and shopping. Walking distance to Mission Dolores Park, Castro Street and Market Street.

I had no problem with the staff. I brought my daughter even though I wasn't originally planning on doing so and booked a room for just myself. The clerk gave us a more comfortable room than the one I would have had, and I appreciated this very much. The location is great as long as you know what to expect from the Missoon District. It's an artsy, cultural district, and doesn't offer much more than art, bars, good food, theatres, etc. It is not a clean area by any means, but like I said, you won't be disappointed if you know this ahead of time. The hotel is in the heart of this district, just a couple buildings north of Clarion Alley, Roxie Theatre, and the BART. There's also a delicious pizza place almost nextdoor that specializes in detroit style pizza. The hotel was reasonably clean and is really just meant to be a place to sleep. It's nothing fancy but is comfortable enough and has a good value. My daughter had fun and even seemed fine relaxing in the hotel for a long time.

Honestly, the shower isn't great and I wish there were more things in the room, like more coffee for the coffee pot and better soap. But it wasn't that big of a deal. Also, because Mission District is super loud at night, it would have been better if it was a little more soundproof in the hotel, but again, it wasn't that big of a deal.
