Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown

Good places were walking distance. It was close to the pier for walking distance and places on the pier to eat and hang around. The various accommodations like breakfast included, gym, and laundry area. Just enough parking for everyone to find a spot.

I did not like the tight spots of parking as some people do not park correctly. Parking is $40 a night. Some cosmetic damages to rooms so I always feel I will be blamed for it. Zero balance receipt takes awhile to get back.

Plenty of space, and private rooms for everyone. Breakfast was nice, although it only went to 9am.

Lights in both bathrooms flickered when turned on. The water to the toilet in one of the bathrooms was literally turned off when we arrived. Very strange. Both alarms went off at 6am even though we didn't set them. Cleaning staff should turn them off.

We had the 2 br/2bath suite and it was nice to have the amenities of the kitchen and living room. The breakfast was good and let our varying preferences.

In other Residence Inns on bedroom has a king bed and one has 2 queens. I wish this one had that instead of one queen in each bedroom since we were 3 adult friends traveling together who would have enjoyed our own beds.

This hotel was people-friendly. The room was clean, with just enough space for the guests. Serene outdoor area by the fire. A quiet ambiance to have peace and serenity. The staff stayed professional and family-friendly.

I was disappointed that this hotel didn't have a shuttle service. But they provided expedited taxi accommodation.

They charged $30 for parking, which they have not done in the past. They also sold parking for the concert that was across the street. They have not done that in the past either. Had I not arrived early I do not know if there would have been parking.

Fantastic location next to the pier and Little Italy - great restaurants and farmers market all within walking distance - very friendly staff as well.

Great location for airport and car rental.

Very limited parking for the amount you have to pay a night to park. Also, no patio chairs or furniture.

The staff is super nice and so helpful, they gave us a courtesy call when our room was ready and let us store our luggage there considering we arrived to town way before check in time.

Free shuttle not able to pick up from airport or drop off. Too early and too late.

The hotel advertise that there is a jacuzzi, and there is not. In addition, the changing room for the pool is in the main lobby . It was an inconvenience to use when its full of families changing, not to mention the floors were wet.

The hotel advertised a hot tub but there wasnt one.

Customer service was excellent. We stayed 5 days and everyone we encountered was very informative and ready to help. Complimentary shuttle, breakfast, amenities was perfect. Will definitely use Residence Inn again.

The hotel room is very clean. The room space is excellent. Nothing to complain about it.

Some parking spaces are very compact, very tiny. If you come back late at night, it is very hard to park at those tiny spaces.

We loved everything about the hotel. The location was fantastic - as was the staff. The rooms are very spacious with kitchens and living rooms! Breakfast was nice also. I cannot think of any negatives.

Wonderful staff, perfect location, delicious breakfast with tons of selection, comfortable bed, spacious rooms with kitchen, nice pool. Perfect for a family with kids and the awesome park across the street was a nice bonus.

The pull-out bed in the sleeper sofa was pretty uncomfortable, though it worked fine for our two small children.

The hotel is in a great location. I loved that you can use their shuttle service for free for anywhere within 2 miles. The free breakfast was much better than I expected. The hotel also does free dinner and beer on a couple weeknights.

Are the ceilings not soundproof/ thick enough? The guests staying above us sounded like elephants walking around. If I had been staying there longer, I would have asked for a room change.

The bathroom sink has a weird structure. It was hard to wash my hands without bumping into the back of the sink underneath the faucet. There were also a limited number of mirrors throughout the room.
