Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Downtown/Bayside

I asked for our room to be cleaned (which it wasn't very clean when we first got there) four times the second day we were there. It never happened. We didn't feel comfortable staying at this hotel and chose something different. Service was mediocre.

The smell! It was fresh!

The parking fee's. But it was great service as well the valet was on it!

Proximity to Little Italy neighborhood restaurants and airport. Breakfast was on the better end of hotel breakfast, enjoyed the tacos.

The pool was not working and we didn?t know it when I made the reservation or when we checked in.

The view of the room was cool to see the airplanes landing. Couldn?t hear them much which was great too.

The lock on the bathroom kept getting stuck so we had to stop using it. The toilet water also sprang out when flushed too. Otherwise it was an amazing room.

Front staff was very friendly and gave us good suggestions where to visit.

No area near or designated for pets to relieved themselves. I had to walk my little pup to the park and in the middle of the night I took him up at the front not a safe place. Pool was not heated nor jacuzzi.

Water problem. It stopped working and then it was to hot, my son got sprayed with burning hot water when he was taking a bath with warm water

Bad customer service. How do you sell and offer rooms that upon check in are not available. I booked this hotel specifically to have a kitchen to cater to my 3 and 5 year old children. Instead of upon checking in I was offered this 2 basic rooms

Argument over parking being free. When booked the room told a buffet included-wasn't, limited ability to use workout room -not told ahead. No service for room! Noisy with kids running around both in hallway and room above. Staff told and did nothing

Surprise $45 parking fee when advertised as free; very small pool; surprise checkout time of 11 when posted in room as noon; asked guest services for items that never arrived.

The location was perfect. We didn't rent a car, and we were walking distance to shops and to eat

The hotel breakfast was in paper bags due to Covid restrictions, that understandable. But the variety was limited

I liked that the location was close to the downtown area and that there was free breakfast

There were ants in the bathroom and that made me uncomfortable sleeping in the room. There was also a piece of wood that fell off from the vanity and fell on my foot. The experience was definitely less than what we expected and I will not be going back.

Friendly and accommodating staff! Very tastefully decorated.

Our room was right next to the elevator so lots of door traffic and noise! Parking was astronomically high at $45/day and as valet only, somewhat inconvenient. the web did not state parking was valet only and should be updated.

The mandatory valet parking charge was outrageous! Also, the breakfast room was somewhat chaotic. Also, I thought evening happy hours usually included complimentary snacks and beverages, not simply selling them.

Did not have an in room safe. Not good for business traveler which appears to be their primary market. They did offer safety deposit boxes but so few they were unavailable.
