ITH Beach Bungalow Surf Hostel San Diego Adults Only

Wasn't secure. Room door didn't shut. Male staff entered room unannounced at all hours for ridiculous reasons (after 2am to check n see if the work order for lights don't work) and they tried to put people in room when there was no space. I got no sleep

Location perfect, staff were warm and very nice. Breakfast good.

Room door didn't shut so worried about safety, leaving stuff in room. Lights didn't work, male staff entered room no knock after midnight to check, not fix, waking us.next 2 nights booking confusions short on beds, waking everyone again. no sleep here.

Humble, beautiful people from all over the world pass through here. Although my stay was short, I'll definitely be visiting again soon

You have to be hands-on in providing yourself with the amenities. You will not be waited on it served. Although there's a definite charm in that.

I booked a bed in what was supposed to be a 4 bed room. It ended up being a bed in a 6 bed room, it was not a big deal but i feel like the price should've been adjusted.

Right on the beach, and had an awesome private area to hang out in. Met some great people, and was walking distance from just about anything on Mission Beach.

Right next to the beach, very open, good organisation and great common space!

The location was beautiful and right on the beach, and the workers were all super kind and helpful

Our door didn't close properly unless you scanned the keycard, but the keycards didn't work even after getting them fixed multiple times, so our belongings were in an unlocked room for hours

Music and screaming till deep in the night, at least 3am. Eacht night without exception.

I thought the breakfast was fun and easy, wished there was fresh fruit or maybe a little more to the breakfast. The common areas were nice and it was a great way to meet new friends. I loved the daily activities and access to surf gear!

Because it is an open concept, I felt there was a lot of wet areas with the rain. My backpack got wet overnight and my laptop is damaged because of that, even though it was in a protected area right by my bed.

were about 30 people there and 28 of them were employees i guess. couch surfing, sleeping in hammocks overnight, barely saw any actual guests lol.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Location right on the beach, perfect to get to the Ocean with plenty of walkable options for food around.

The private room was right next to reception and even though a sign said it would be quiet after 10pm I had music from the common area all the way till the early morning, so not ideal to sleep.

I stayed at the ITH Beach Bungalow for 9 days and it was one of the most relaxing stays I've ever had. I booked a private room upstairs (which includes a private bathroom / shower and a private mini fridge). This gave me the perfect balance between joining in on activities / socializing and coming back to myself. I recommend it to any fellow introvert ;)The beach location is ideal and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I loved the breakfast pancakes and the communal kitchen, both great cost-savers for my trip! Also loved drinking some morning coffee in the hammocks overlooking the beach. The wifi connection was great, upstairs in my room too. Finally, thanks to the laundromat, dryer and iron I could get through my whole trip with only hand luggage and a backpack.If I ever return to San Diego, I will come back here for sure!

Pretty clean, amazing location

Run down, too many people for one bathroom, doors need fixing, place needs upkeep, line to make your own breakfast too long

Didn’t like anything about the property. Wish I could get a refined from these 23 year old “bros” run hostel.

Love the atmosphere and the vibe. I'm a very social person and having more people like me around is exactly what I was looking for. The site itself was unlike anything I've ever stayed at before offering a different more relaxing trip over the more standard hotel room.

Just being on the top bunk but I came in late and the place is popular.

Very close proximity to beach and boardwalk, public transport (bus) and good experience of beach culture

Curtain railing to NOT fall down due to not properly mounted in the wall.

I loved the location. The vibe was chill and good. I was comfortable and I felt safe. I slept good.

I didn't like the uncleanliness. Also I don't like the hostel living part where I have to cook my own food/ breakfast and make my own coffee.

The friendliest staff going. Always a smile and a compliment. Incredible location, the beach is such a selling point but also close to so many great cafes, bars, shops and restaurants

The room was spotless (and, I owned a cleaning business). The "old fashioned" appliances were cute. Bed super comfortable. It was in a great location- in between 2 pathways for walking/bike rides.

You can definitely hear everyone around you because of how the building is designed. It didn't bother us at all, but might be hard for light sleepers or people who are looking for a really quiet hotel.
