HI San Diego Downtown Hostel

The staff was friendly and they were serious about security. Downtown San Diego. Perfect location. We booked a private room with two bunk beds and a private bathroom. The room was beds were very clean, room was clean and updated. Third floor updated.

The lobby and elevator felt dark and very dated. The third floor, our room, the bathroom, common areas, kitchen were very updated and clean.

What I like best about my experience was the detail in art work, the designs on each floor, & the cleanliness. It was beautiful for this to be my first experience. I don¿t even want to try another place but I will eventually if this one is booked.

I wasn¿t there enough to see if it was anything that I didn¿t like.

Very close to the city and within public transport means. Services were available and staff very friendly.

I did not see any parking spot information or advice. The hotel does not have any parking spot or offer discounts to clients. I think this would be helpful if added.

The hotel was clean and well kept up, loved that every was also nearby.

Wish the room had an actual window instead of it being blocked off.

Favorable pricing in an excellent location, community experience, social life, sense of sharing, meeting diverse crowd. Modest breakfast available.

4-bed room: Floor was covered with some sand-like dirt - room is not cleaned daily. Only one chair per room already used by another occupant so, changing clothes without the ability to sit was an adventure. Bathrooms, hallways, kitchen are not A/C'd.

The street was quite loud.

Location was ideal for restaurants, bars, public transportation, groceries. It was clean and staff was friendly.

Due to the location it's very noisy until late into the night. Best for people who want to party / stay out until the bars close. Would not recommend for families or anyone looking to get sleep before 2am. Could also use extra outlets/lights by beds

Public areas seemed clean and comfortable

Receptionist when we arrived was very rude and acted very annoyed that we were late. As someone who works in the service industry, I thought her behaviour was incredible unnecessary and left a very bad overall experience for me.

There were some nice sitting areas, so I didn¿t have to spend a lot of time in my room. Okay
