This is one of my absolute favorite hostels ever!!! The place is immaculate and so comfy cozy! What an amazing stay, I would go back in a heartbeat!! I was so happy to have been able to connect with other travelers and staff, the common areas and kitchen were so perfect for that. The vibe was chill, the decor was beautiful, extremely helpful and friendly staff, great amenities and a delicious pancake and eggs breakfast that was greatly appreciated. I felt right at home and really loved all the little details that Reuben very clearly put his heart into. I am already trying to plan my return, lol.

Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The location is great, and the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. Reuben and Elianna were amazing, they made sure everything was set up properly and gave me a detailed tour to ensure I had everything I needed. The complimentary pancakes were the highlight of breakfast, so delicious, with all the toppings available!

I ended up staying at ITH’s Mission Beach location because the reservation I made at a different hostel turned out to be a mistake (the online system said there were rooms available but in reality there weren’t any left at the time). It’s good that’s what happened though because the staff are much more friendly, welcoming and helpful/supportive. I was always told good morning and asked how I was doing throughout the day and if I needed anything. The place is always kept clean and stocked and is near the beautiful beach and boardwalk as well as a nice amusement park. They’ve also got daily events/activities like Taco Tuesday and BBQ night which I’ve liked. I remember five years ago thinking I’d probably never stay at a hostel when I found out about them being a thing; just because I didn’t like the idea of being around people like that as I’m kinda introverted. But I finally gave it a try and I’m glad I did. Especially ITH. They have good priced stays, nice locations (I’ve also been at their sites in Little Italy (San Diego, CA) and Beach Bungalow (Mission Beach, CA)), and great staff at each one. And personal space actually isn’t a problem like I thought it’d be. So I think I’m mostly done with hotels and will choose hostels, specifically ITH whenever I can, from now on!

I’m sad that I have to leave one day soon (too soon) and that I didn’t find out about them sooner

Brilliant hostel! Reuben and the rest of the ITH team do a superb job of creating a wonderfully welcoming environment—from the hostel tour upon arrival to the lovely, varied evening events and great recommendations for things to do in San Diego. Thanks to the team for a fantastic stay!

The hostal is super close to the beach, the people have great energy, and the breakfast options are excellent

The manager Reuben took such good care of making me feel welcome (he remembered me by name). One could notice that he is really dedicated to keeping all spaces clean and tidy.

Nothing major. I really enjoyed it. If I had one favor, I'd ask for bread for breakfast but the stay is already an amazing value so I can understand if this is not possible.

My room (a private double with a sink, but no bathroom) was large, comfortable, and did not overlook the busy street, so was relatively quiet. The TV in my room had a small selection of movies. It was Thanksgiving Day, and the staff cooked a nice Thanksgiving dinner for us — which was a really nice extra. The hostel is located in an interesting neighborhood in Mission Beach, one block from the beachside promenade. Nice kitchen, with bananas and coffee provided in the morning (I think pancake batter was also available). Interesting international mix of guests, with a very friendly, sociable British host.

The staff was very kind. The breakfast is delicious. The place is amazing and clean. The location is greatest.

The staff's effort was huge to make you happy. Location is great. There was BBQ when I arrived. For breakfast, you can cook eggs. Living room was good enough to meet other guests. Staff is careful about the "quiet time" which I liked very much. Enough showers and toilets, wome were big enough, some tiny. 4 beds would

Female dorm was for 6 people but 4 would suit better. It was too small.

The staff was everything! After 2 seconds they all know you by name and make sure you feel at home. Every night they plan some activity so you can meet the other guests. Great hostel if you want to meet people, but not a party hostel. Good size room and comfortable beds. 2 steps away from the beach

I have really enjoyed doing my own pancakes, it was delicious and very fun ! The staff was fantastic, always enthusiastic and smiling. My room had everything I expected, so it's nice.

I would say that the noise might be the only small drawback. I was often woken up by the street's noises.

Had the most amazing stay. Cannot recommend the hostel enough. Everything was so fantastic. Way exceeded my expectations. First time staying in a hostel. So safe friendly kind and fun. Do not hesitate booking. Just a great great place

Location, friendly staff, cleanliness, organized activities, laundry machines on site. Several free parking lots nearby make it easy to park.

Hostel is kinda small and can feel cramped when there are a lot of people, especially the kitchen.

fantastic location, gorgeous lounge and overall very comfortable place to stay. they’ve done wonders with the admittedly limited space, and even though the place was fully booked i never felt cramped or uncomfy. top notch hostel.

after the first night the room (8 bed) had a bit of a smell to it, but it wasn’t too bothersome

Vibes were great. People were friendly. Reuben the manager was a great problem solver, really friendly and kind.

The tall english guy that managed it was super sweet and helpful and so were the other volunteers that I met. I bunked in a female dorm with a few others that were traveling from Ireland. I was scared to stay in a hostel but I did my research and I was not disappointed. I’m a little socially awkward and I always travel alone so it was a neat way of kind of traveling with others. Everybody ate breakfast together in the mornings and went out to see the city together. It was a cute little spot right on the beach right in the middle of everything and it was very clean. I definitely recommend! I will be staying here again!

I would stay in an all female or male dorm unless you are open to people getting it on in the room with you? but that’s to be expected.
