The Staff was amazing! The people that stayed in the hostel were very cool, mostly from other country's. Overall, I very much enjoyed the location, staff & the people. The rooms were warm and comfortable.

No... Insider scoop... I did flip my mattress before sleeping on it. Your back will thank you.

Clean, price is great compared to others in same area, good location for people needing public transportation, lots of restaurants and other stores within short walking distance.

Very warm during the day (heater on) and cold at night (heater off). Limited space for personal items. Lockers are only for one bag of personal effects. If you have more than one bag and have an extended length of stay. It can be an inconvenience.

Gaslamp Hostel is the Best. The staff here are so friendly and nice. They provide you with great service. I recommend coming here again definitely.

I liked that I had plenty of privacy considering the amount of guests at this property. The atmosphere was very friendly and I felt very at ease there. I would most definitely room there again in the near future.

There wasn't anything that I felt required fixing... I really enjoyed my stay.

Excellent in every way: Great staff, location and comfortable. Staff was super nice and welcoming.

The staff were absolutely lovely. I really enjoyed the events organized in the lounge on certain evenings. The free breakfast is a very welcome bonus. The hostel is ideally located within walking distance of the embarcadero, the Midway Museum, Seaport Village, Downtown, and Little Italy. Public transportation is also very easily accessible from the hostel. As a woman traveling alone, staying in a hostel for the first time, I always felt completely safe. I had an incredible stay and highly recommend this hostel!

There was a slight smell of sewage in the showers, but nothing unbearable.

Colorful and bright! The beds were comfortable and I liked the outlet and light in my bunk.

Fun place, clean, very nice staff, gorgeous space. Always a good experience overall.

I had a private room and it was mostly wonderful but the mattress was terrible (Room 18). I like a firm mattress and I'm fine with stuff not being fancy but damn. My lower back was screaming by the end of the week. I actually checked to see if it was just a box spring by mistake. Time to throw this one out.

The breakfast was good and the food was fresh. The coffee was exceptional. The staff was welcoming and friendly, also very accommodating, I highly recommend this place for foreign visitors or solo travelers, like myself.

1) No elevator for those of us with feet problems. 2) No coffee available until 8 a.m. -- and I am an early riser!

Maybe one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in a while. It was very clean, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Maria and John were super friendly and helpful. Great location as well. Will definitely recommend and be back next time I’m back in San Diego.

The entire property was very clean and the facilities are fantastic. The location is perfect and the staff were exceptionally friendly and very accommodating to all of our needs. We would stay again in a split second, thank you Gaslamp hostel for making our stay memorable.

We absolutely loved everything about the property.

I needed a place for one night, and it met all my expectations. It was clean, the reception guy was nice, and the room was surprisingly quiet given all the party outside. Nice stay :)

I could only wish that the breakfast hours were earlier, or that there would be a way to have breakfast in case of checking out early. Other than that - no complaints :)

The rooms, common areas, kitchen and especially the bathrooms were always very clean and clearly maintained throughout the day. Check in/out was easy, Breakfast was greatThe location is absolutely perfect, surrounded by things to do in walking distance and very easy to get to from the airport. The hostel has a great, young crowd and a really friendly, social atmosphere, making it easy to meet people. It was surprisingly quiet at night in the dorms at night even though there is so much activity happening outside. I felt comfortable, safe and at home during my stay and honestly can’t wait to stay here again. Can really tell a lot of love has gone into this hostel. Highly recommend!

Has a multi station kitchen for anyone who doesn’t want to eat on the go or are traveling on a budget, grocery store is a short walk to be able to prepare meals.

Can’t complain. Affordable, cool staff an friendly house mates, clean fun atmosphere . I would absolutely recommend to friends and family.
