Del Marcos Hotel

Amazing downtown location. Walkable.

Not super clean, no front desk staff for the first 3 days of our stay. We had to check in at the next door hotel. Room was super tiny. Fridge broke. Sink clogged. Hot and cold switched in our shower.

Location was fantastic- on the edge of downtown

Property really needs renovation. Construction is shoddy. Bikes that are provided are awful.

The location was very good, parking was easy, and the room was nice.

We actually ended up not staying at the Del Marcos due to a heating issue in our room. The staff were very nice and they moved us to the Serena Villas next door which we loved.

Great location. The sister property next door La Serena Villas offers a great bar restaurant and it is where you check in and you get a welcome glass of bubbles .

The lack of staff at this site to help you. Guests need to go next door to the sister property next door to check in and to get help on things like extra towels, a room issue etc. no front desk staff was present at this location while we were there but the staff next door at la Serena villas is fabulous. Understandable that a small hotel does not have funds to have full time staff but someone should be onsite in the lobby at check in and checkout times at the given property one stays at.

Location was great. The studio was comfortable and spacious.

The only minor issue was the pillows. The bed was comfortable, however the pillows were lumpy. Next time we’ll bring our own pillow.

The room was clean. The outdoor tub is neat. The water dispenser at the pool is appreciated in the heat.

OBSERVATIONS OVER 4 DAYSNo one was ever at reception so we had to go to the sister hotel reception next door. They should have a sign up so folks aren't waiting around.While waiting at reception once we saw a photocopy of someone's driver's license and credit card just sitting on the desk. HUGE SECURITY RISK. Since there were no hotel staff most of our questions had to be answered by the housekeeping crew. Our Spanish is pretty good but I didn't expect to have to talk to 3 people before someone knew the word "check-out." Disappointing that there was no microwave in the room and the fridge was just a 6 inch wide wine fridge. That doesn't even hold a take out container.The air conditioner ran Non-Stop. Instead of automatically turning off when it would reach its set temperature. Super noisy.The bath and pool towels were surprisingly dingy. No longer white and many sides with stringy threads.

The location was great

The property itself was misleading. The patios for the rooms are not private at all. We stayed in the las Palmas room. It was small a little rundown despite the shower remodel but it worked. Both the AC and the TV could use an upgrade, the bathroom was exceptionally small. we went during off season and paid $144 I wouldn’t pay more than that for any of the rooms. The lobby wasn’t open and we had to check in next door at their sister property which appeared to be much nicer. Guests were offered champagne upon arrival and the restaurant for the Del Marcos is actually on the sister property. There are a few parking spots on the property and the rest is street. The location is great and right downtown

The location is great and the downtown area is easily walkable if its not too hot. The design and decor was cute mid-century. The overall hotel was in good condition. The price was competitive compared to surrounding motels/hotels.

There was not staff on duty at check in or check out so you had to walk over and check in at the neighboring hotel. Not a huge deal... but it was a little inconvenient. The breakfast was meager. It consisted of muffins, yogurt and granola. It was about the least they could do and say they offer a breakfast. It was also locked in the hotel office, and since there was no one on duty, you had to call the neighboring hotel to come over and give you access to the "breakfast." Our bathroom sink had quite a few tiny fruit flies from the drain when we arrived. Also, the refillable shampoo dispenser would not close, so anyone could dump anything in there. It was disgusting to think about really. A group of young adults were having a bit of a party in the courtyard and were very loud. We spoke to another couple that was also trying to access breakfast that said they kept calling for security as they couldn't sleep from the party, but it was almost midnight before security came. We also woke up to all of their pizza boxes and beer cans on the tables outside our door. We are pretty easy going people and still enjoyed a night away...but we will do it from another hotel next time.

Overall good hotel but bad service. Room clean but not super cute (light bulb not even matching in the bedroom so you have different colors). Good location.

Hotel looks more updated on the pictures.You don't have a concierge on site often, you need to check in to the sister hotel next door. Same if you need anything. I wouldn't call that a breakfast, muffin, yoghurt and coffee/tea. No one by the pool to remove towels or anything that previous person could have left behind. Towels are old too.Loved being awake by "Housekeeping!!" at 9am on a Saturday morning..... In the end got charged for food that I never requested. The pool was very hot so not super enjoyable during this summer weather. First day we arrive, the pool was also very blurry. It got better the 2 other days to be fair.For the price, I will go somewhere else next time as this is not worth it.

Location and cleanliness of room.

The first 3 days was the worst guest service I have ever experienced in a long time. We had to repeatedly ask for clean pool towels, for someone to clean the debris from the pool, to open the lobby on time so guests could get coffee and tea and breakfast at a reasonable time, to replenish the complimentary water cooler by the pool throughout the day not just once in the morning, there was no pool service to order drinks and food by the pool as advertised. The pool got cleaned the 3rd day into our stay, right at the time when guests are ready to enjoy the pool in the morning the pool cleaner is dumping chemicals into the pool. I even overheard one say the filter/pump was not working properly and thats why the pool is so dirty. It was atrocious. We demanded from the GM that at the very minimum our resort fees be refunded for the first 3 days because their guests were doing all the work. The general manager offered us a 3 day resort fee refund and a complimentary breakfast at their sister resort next door. I thought that was pretty unsatisfactory and I will never bring my friends here again, or myself for that matter. The breakfast they offer is a continental sugary treat....sugary yogurt, micro mini muffins (sugar), granola (sugary), dates, and the apples and oranges you have to cut and peel yourself. I asked if by chance they had just plain natural yogurt, the answer was No. The proper thing to do was to refund our stay by 50% and give us an opportunity to come try them again with a promise to take our grievances into consideration and improve, we did not get the feeling the GM was truly concerned, felt more like a brush off...here'sa free meal and a few bucks refund for your troubles. I was actually there in Dec 2023 and the exact same excuse was used why the lobby did not open at 7:30 like their sign said...staff emergency was given as a reason at both of my stays. What a load of poop.
