Monterey Fireplace Inn

I liked the location and the general condition of the hotel. It's a bit shabby around the edges, but is overall a nice place to stay and it is well priced. The staff was also efficient and very pleasant to deal with.

The floors in the hotel room were sticky and left my feet dirty when I was getting into bed. The bathroom, being tiled, wasn't an issue.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Asked for reference for dinner and suggested Harumi.

Cleanliness outstanding, parking close to rooms. Near stores,food,etc. Quiet.

Floor was dirty

Not a whole lot to like about the hotel; other than the fact that it provided 2 beds for me for the night.

1. Dirty towels that look like they haven't been washed. 2. Electrical outlet that doesn't work 3. Needs a new paint job 4. Place looks like it hasn't been remodeled since the 1970s. 5. Dirty carpets Thank god the toilet actually worked!

Perfectly decent accomodations.

Walls so thin we could hear people next door smoking and coughing nasty gunk up all night. All. Night.

Got there at 10:00 and we had to call to get our room when the office was supposed to be open till 11. Then when we were about to take a shower I seen a bed bug on the towel in the bathroom! We left immediately and they wouldn't give us our money back!

I selected/stayed because of price. Room was clean. Fireplace is nice. Not much road noise in my room. Hot water worked.

Facility and furnishings are very old. Had to get portable space heater for heat.

The pillows where perfect for me.

Bathroom was small, TV didn't work with the remote and no air conditioner

Nothing. We ended up leaving bbefore it was night. It was not fit for me and my kids to stay. It's tiny and dirty. We cut out loss on the $----and just went home.

Place to sleep

I found roaches in the bathroom crawling on my toothbrush dead Roche's near the refrigerator and microwave and cable only had two channels remote did not work and the towels had stains on them and just looked dirty

Location was great and the staff was both friendly and helpful.

Cleanliness of the room was substandard.

It was cheap, but still too expensive for how gross it was.

it looked as though the comforter had been melted in some areas and the melted plastic became sharp. there was hard white crust on the blanket. the sheets were rough. the bed was uncomfortable. no ironing board. the fridge hummed loudly

It was small, grubby and very old and noisy.
