Fisherman's Cove Inn

It was tucked back in off of the Main Street where many hotels were located. It was quiet and comfortable. Clean and orderly. It was simple to check in and I was greeted with a smile a key and a goodie bag along with bottled water. It was very thoughtful.

Walls were a little thin as the neighbor came in around 1am slamming doors and banging around when the couple or siblings proceeded to scream and yell at each other. neighbors on the floor came to their door to quiet them down. They eventually passed out.

It was clean, room was spacious and quick drive (even decent walk) to downtown

Walls are very thin, being on a bottom unit, the upstairs occupants were very loud late at night and you can hear every single footstep

The location is excellent. It's close access to Carmel, Downtown Monterey, and Shopping (Del Monte Mall). The room was comfortable, very clean, and tucked away from other rooms (end room, top floor). The management and staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. I particularly enjoyed the complementary coffee from the Keurig in the lobby. Overall, it was very nice, but I experienced some minor annoyances.

There were a few minor areas for improvement. There is a very bright white light fixture right outside the front door and window. It is so bright that it illuminates the room (brighter than a nightlight) even with the black-out shades completely drawn. There was also problem with the bathroom sink. It seems to be missing a flow restrictor/diffuser, so water would shoot out at a higher speed than necessary, not only making it difficult to wash your face and brush your teeth, but it would splash all over the countertop, making it excessively wet. And finally, there was difficulty with the microwave. It seems the rotating platter was the wrong size for the spindle, which always pushed it and kept it to one of the microwave sides, occasionally lifting the platter up and down.

Very spacious room with basic amenities, making it a nice place to stay for a few nights without paying a fortune. Free parking right outside. Would stay here again.

There’s a quite high water pressure in the sink faucet and shower, which was a bit uncomfortable. There was a heavy smell of perfumed cleaning agent when I entered the room. I had to open door and windows to just cleanse the air from the smell.

The front desk employee where friendly and helpful. The room was clean.

Wifi was slow and weak.

Nothing really. Check in was friendly enough but when asked for a refund they were not accommodating.

Very heavy mildew smell. Mildew seen as top of shower, dirty wet towel was rolled up and presented as fresh and new, Bare bones accommodations - not warm and inviting, stained bedspread. It didn't feel clean, and the smell of mildew was overwhelming we had to leave and go elsewhere. Clientele, I didn't feel safe.

Wasn’t too expensive and was clean and welcoming.

It was super close to the ocean and next to a really good pho restaurant! Staff was very kind. It was easy to find and close to all major attractions in Monterey!

The people upstairs were very loud and we could hear their small child running and pulling the chair across the floor starting at 6am.

The location was ideal for our family getaway. The property was clean, the room and bed was huge. And being able to bring my 3lb Chihuahua home as priceless. A+ for a quick check in.

My only complaint, the pillow was big and thick and the bed was too soft for my liking. Regardless of those 2 things, I would definitely recommend

Lighting in room could be better.

Space in the room was great, clean, bunk beds gave more space for the children to spread out. Daily housecleaning without asking was amazing and free parking. Location was great across from shopping area and movie theater, view of the ocean and a quick drive to all the fun! The price was unbeatable!

Outdoor chairs and tables around the hotel would be a great upgrade for those earlier risers. A few drawers in the rooms would be an added touch for guest staying longer periods of time.
