been coming to Merritt House since 2002. I enjoy the overall location. More personal and quiet.

Not sure why we would need to pay for parking. Each unit should have at least one parking pass. Paying extra fees for this is robbery. This would be the one reason why I would find different location.

Location, Fireplace, Staff

There was nothing we didn¿t like.

It was absolutely charming. The room was beautiful, bathroom space was very roomy. Walking distance from old Historic Downtown. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend.

Perfect spot, a few blocks away from Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Free parking on site.

Just off Del Monte, Merritt House Inn is in walking distance of the pier, etc., and the grounds were very pretty.

The Inn was, pretty much as expected; a little "seasoned" but nothing that made me "not like" it.

It was actually quite refreshing to be at a quaint and clean lodge just around the corner from the busy hotels and conference. I will definitely stay here again for a conference. Or just a weekend getaway with my wife. And I am from Huntington Beach. Ca

Hotel employee was phenomenal. She was friendly and welcoming. The location and grounds were spectacular. We would definitely stay there again!

The young man who checked us in was not very helpful about the area, restaurants, etc... there was no a/c and only windows were French doors. Otherwise it was a lovely room.

What a little gem, nice people really made you feel like they cared, great location, free park was a plus. Would not think of staying anywhere else in Monterey.

Not a big deal for me, but bathroom had some peeling paint, really no big deal!!!!

We were upgraded to Room 26, which must be the best hotel accommodation in Monterey. It is the entire second floor of the original Merritt residence, with a large living room, a bedroom that is equally large, and a patio out back.

The view and feel of it. Locale, a hiden vintage gem with a tranquility soul.

I was told on arrival that the hotel was fully booked and there was no longer parking available..

bed was too firm (no cushioning at all) but friends who stayed in different rooms said their beds were fine.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is very good, especially if you are attending an event at the Monterey Convention Center.

It took at least 20 minutes for the water in the shower to get hot enough to use. That seems like a lot of wasted water. It would have been nice if breakfast started earlier, maybe 7:30 am instead of 8 am.

Great location. Great price. Mini fridge and fireplace in the room. They give you a log to burn. Staff is very nice. Continental breakfast included. Parking on-site. Great little market next door in case you forget something and they make great, fresh sandwiches. I love this place and highly recommend it. Oh yeah, big rooms and comfortable beds.

The location for what I needed was outstanding. It's an older property with charm. My room was clean.

Loved the French doors that opened to the garden, large spacious room, complimentary firewood, easy checking and checkout, loved the old style hotel keys, decor was lovely, nice big desk and side table.

Bed was a bit too firm, walls are thin (could hear my neighbor and I feel parking should be included not an extra fee.

The Merritt House Hotel is a charming place to stay. Local shops, restaurants, coffee shops, etc are walkable. On sight parking is available ($20 per day) but some of the spots are tight. The morning free breakfast was charming and a perfect way to start the day. We appreciated the ability to have our breakfast "to go." We'll be back!
