Pros +
- It had a good location close to Sequoia National Park. The room was clean. The restaurant was pretty good.
- It close to the sequoia national park the workers were very nice and pleasant and the restaurant was nice and food was good a Lil on the expensive side but good
- This was the closest hotel near the Kings National Park west entrance. The meal we got at the hotel was excellent! We got the Pot Roast and it was the best I've ever had. Don't forget to go out back and pet the black kitty on the deck near the hot tub
Cons -
- We had no idea that the room did not have a bathroom and that we would have to go outside (in the cold rain) to use very rudimentary campground-like bathrooms. That should have been more prominently highlighted as a caveat, especially at this price.
- The only thing I didn't like about the place was the room we had but possibly maybe it was the last minute booking the room had 3 bed one was side was a bunk beds so as we being seniors over 60 the bed on the bottom u couldn't sit straight up
- We stayed in on of the small cabins and had to walk a few feet for the bathroom and shower which wasn't a problem but if it was cold or raining it mightbe great.

Older style, but the perfect location for visiting the National Forrest! The owner and staff are very Friendly~
Room was small, but suited our needs-enough for an overnight stay-older, but clean and well taken care of-We would stay here again given the chance-
The cafe and housekeeping team were fantastic and friendly. There is no breakfast offered any more at the cafe. We went to Clingans. We did have 2 other meals at Gena's and they were nothing to write home about but fine.
The walls are thin and with the connecting door, even though closed, we could hear coughing and talking of the neighbors. The rooms are tiny. Did not like the bunk bed on top of our bed. The posts made getting out of bed more difficult and since I hurt my knee on a hike, it was even more challenging. The shower was leaky, the cloth did not keep water from going all over the floor. The sink didn't have a stopper or filter, so I was afraid the soap or anything could fall down the drain. Everything was just a bit more old, funky, and rustic than I was hoping.
We had the cabin/lodge with its own bathroom. Had a kitchen but we didn’t need it. Perfect location for going in to Sequoia/Kings.
This place was very dirty, we saw a rat there before we entered the room, right away we went to their office (their restaurant) and told them what happened and that we will not stay in their dirty place, they refused to give us a refund saying speak to booking.com,we left , we didn’t stay there, we left to Hampton inn Selma, CA, ( 3410 floral ave, Selma 93662, phone number 559-620-7050)
Amazing cabin. Perfect for a starting point into the Sequoia National Park.
The gas heater was a little frightening at first, but then it looked like a romantic fireplace. Very cozy place.
The only advantage of the place was the location somewhat close to the two nearby parks.
There was no hot water! We tried to take a shower last night and waited the 2-3 minutes for the hot water to activate, which the sign said on the outdoor bathroom. It briefly spurt hot water then cold the entire rest of the time! We couldn't take a shower because of a lack of this basic amenity. Additionally, the kitchen and sink cost an extra $10 to use, it's not free. There's no indoor fridge. We were told to take out our own trash. We paid nearly $100 for an experience I'd expect in a run down hotel in a much poorer country.
Convenient and spacious. We stayed in the lodge, which is exactly as advertised.
We had diner at the adjacent restaurant. Our server told us we get a discount for being hotel patrons. Server who ran our card did not apply the discount, nore did she offer to refund the discount amount after we mentioned this discount and even though she refunded a dish we didn't order.
Location is the best! Really the only reason to stay here. Staff at the restaurant next door were helpful and food was good too.
Met the owner... her comments about her seasonal employees collecting unemployment until next year "unless Trump takes that away too" were tacky. It was a completely inappropriate thing to say to strangers/guests during any conversation. I could only imagine how uncomfortable a republican would feel and both of my parents were sitting there and both republican. I am independent so, i dont care. I think both sides are insane. Politics and business dont mix. She also bragged about how much money she made off her "sheds set up as hotel rooms". Her husband was a lot more professional to talk to. It is a lot smaller than the pictures looked. It's right next door to a bar and grill type restaurant so, loud until 10ish on weekends. They had a band play one night and seeing as the band was sitting basically right beside the building, couldn't watch tv and decompress from the long day but the band played well. Theres essentially a hallway space between the restaurant and hotel/airbnb. If you leave even a dirty knife in the sink overnight, ants everywhere. I live in the country and do not have ant problems like that. Toilet kept stopping up so my mom had to go to the restaurant to borrow a plunger. We weren't flushing toilet paper so, perhaps there was an issue left behind from previous guests.
Check-in is automatic, so you just receive a code from your room. You can park in front of your room. The bed was comfortable. Good place for one night stop during your trip to Sequoia - its approx 45 min to get there.
The room was really small. There was no fridge or microwave - you would have to pay extra 10 USD to use that (same for washing machine/dryer).The equipment was quite old and ,,used" and the room itself wasn't really clean. There is only motel restaurant, but nothing else nearby.I would say it was quite expensive for what you get.
Location was good, .Misty was great.
The listing suggests that a shared kitchen space is included as amenity. In reality, this is an upcharge that is discovered at property with check in instructions once you are within the cancelation period. I reached out via booking.com app to see if they would provide code for fridge storage and place we could fill drinking bottle, after 24 hour of silence got told I must pay upcharge if I wanted access to sink/fridge (reply next morning.) This response came after we had spent a full 12 hours of no electricity. I understand that was area power co, and not property control, however, no generator back up plan for cooling units. Bungalows are cute-however basically a she-shed with windows ac; so if no power just a bed in a hot box!Would not stay here again.Restaurant experience was an hour wait for 2 people AFTER ordering at counter. Sat so long that Sally (name?) came and asked if we already paid. When we said we still were waiting, she said she would check for us. Came back with one entree about 15 min later and said Cook dropped the chicken on floor and was making another. Had to ask for silverware and was half done when other plate finally arrived.Would not recommend restaurant.
Close to park gate.
Room very small and bed rickety
Stayed in shed, much more comfortable than I expected. Very clean. The next door restaurant staff very friendly!
The shared bathroom/shower situation is not going to work for everyone. Large bathroom & shower shed: Single sink to share with I believe 6 sheds. (No sink in shed). 4 shower stalls, decent pressure. 2 toilets. The code lock didn’t seem to latch, maybe purposely left open given the heavy use.? Was overall very clean. I did not have to wait to shower but I got up early. Sharing sink was a little awkward (share? Wait your turn?) You get a *great* deal on the room, so just decide if ok with the above.
Having AC was a priority, and we enjoyed having the extra sofa bed. The accommodations were modest, and clean on arrival. The bathroom and shower were spacious. The staff were great, and the booking process left a higher impression than our actual stay. We had a decent experience, it was just overpriced.
There was mold on the shower curtain and a moldy smell. There were ants in the bathroom. The queen bed was extremely firm and high up. (A bit too firm) It was very dark on arrival and challenging to turn the car around to go back up the hill at any time of day. It was more like a modular trailer. The restaurant was disappointing, and the inside is decorated with creepy, white Jesus pictures and had a musty smell. The service was unusual and unclear what was expected, should we seat ourselves, where do we order? I was disappointed we couldn't get breakfast there. It would have been nice to know about the preference for cash in the restaurant in advance of the trip. The dessert was depressing. You call that a brownie? The use of AI art and signage is horrendous. There was no hand soap in the bathroom, only a pump labeled "dish soap."
Very pleasant staff, clean rooms, exactly what they said was going to be available. Added amenities like kitchen and laundry were just what we needed for this trip. Plus the food discount!
I couldn't pet the fish.
Close to the Sequoia National Forest and staff were very helpful and friendly. Convenient restaurant next door.
Shower head leaked all night and water was all over the floor. Black mold in shower stall and on the ceiling. We kept hitting our head on the overhead bed railing. Walls are paper thin and we heard the TV in the next room all night.
Comfortable air conditioned room with restaurant on site, close to Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPs!
