Pros +
- The location, convenience, and cleanliness of the room, including the layout/design/accessories room were great.
- I loved my room. It really had a great feel, ambiance, clean style, great amenities. It would be nice to have a full-length mirror in the room, maybe attached to the inside of a closet door or the bathroom door, and added soundproofing between rooms.
- Staff were nice at check in and checkout, shower good, café seemed popular, location is terrific. Nice to have robes and slippers. Balcony might have been nice if weather had been nicer
Cons -
- I requested (via phone to Sens) a room with a balcony before & during my reservation. At check-in, they had not reserved a balcony room. Also- the coffee coupon only covers a regular cup of coffee. **room needs a coffee pot!
- One night I clearly heard the people in the next room talking. There was an adjoining door (locked) but the room could use more sound-proofing. It was odd to walk through a deli/bistro to check-in and get to my room, but the service and room were great.
- Heat didn't work well in room. Bed was soft, pillows lumpy. Walls are paper thin. Fridge didn’t seem to work. Carpet old, shabby, and dirty. Lights over bathroom mirror didn't work. Balcony looks over parking lot.

Location was fantastic and the staff was great!
The room was very small for the price and had at least one too many pieces of furniture. The walls are very thin and the sounds from the neighboring rooms were very apparent. If you stay there, assume everyone can hear what you're doing and saying.
Good location and comfortable bed. Clean, elevator and spacious room.
No parking, except on street.
Decent cafe in the lobby. Many good restaurant options nearby. Good grocery market immediately next door. Short walk from campus and downtown Berkeley activities. Clean.
Outdoor patio was a bit unkempt, leaves and dirt from outdoors present.
Great location & outstanding customer service
Difficult parking
The room was beautiful with windows that opened both to the east and west so we got sunset colors. The bathroom was roomy with a window that opened to the outside. There was a nice desk, little refrigerator and microwave as well as dishes etc. The location is excellent; next to a grocery store, the Cheese Board and Pizza store, across the street from world famous Chez Panisse, and other restaurants. What more could you want!
The "lobby" is also a bistro with a regular parade of Berkeley regulars who sell their books, know each other and chat over coffee about their lives and things they have seen. The bistro food and coffee is good, and service excellent. It is just a bit cramped, but one can also sit outside which is great fun watching the street life.
Liked the helpful, friendly staff and the location of the hotel.
Lack of convenient parking.
Very helpful staff. Great location. Clean room.
Thin walls, so room was a bit noisy.
We were assigned the end room #201 and it was fabulous. We had a nice view of the street and the quiet was just luxurious. Plus we are very close by where our son and daughter live.
The water pressure in the bathroom sink was poor. Also, the fan in the bathroom did not work so by having us both taking showers in the morning, it was very steamy in the room afterwards.
Very kind stuff, bus station in front of the Hotel, breakfast avaiable, room clean, floor to the room a little bit smelling.
The kind stuff and the direct Connection to BART, in the night are very call

Great stay for seeing a show at The Greek. Uber there but was an easy walk back after the show. Funky little boutique hotel in the heart of Berkeley. The staff were SUPER friendly. Attached to a cool little cafe and complimentary coffee tickets were nice. Room was very small but super clean. Attached private patio was a bonus.
Parking situation is pretty bad. Seems with the tiny size of this hotel they could make a deal with the grocery store next door to have a few dedicated permitted parking spots. As it is now, parking is street parking in the neighborhood behind the hotel which is mostly 2 hour parking except on Sundays. We left around 3:00am for our flight and there were a few sketchy characters hanging out near where we had to park.
I loved how you can come and go whenever, and there’s always someone watching the front door. The location was also amazing, and had lots of stores and grocery stores.
I found it odd that the showers don’t have a door to close, and when you shower the floor outside the shower would get wet.
Great location & outstanding customer service
Difficult parking
Spacious room with everything you needed. Decor is a bit dated, but did not bother us. Bed and linens are new, comfortable mattress. Very nice staff. Looks just like the photos. Great restaurants in the area.
The building is not well sound-proofed, so if you are a light sleeper it might bother you. We were fine. And it would not stop me from recommending the hotel.
Bed was comfortable, rooms were clean, room was surprisingly quiet (next to a car park for a supermarket), staff was very warm and friendly, and location is unbeatable.
The room itself was clean and had no smell, but the corridors of the hotel did smell like stale cigarette smoke and seemed like they could use some deep cleaning or refreshing.
Staff. They were so nice and sweet! Coffee. They give free coffee vouchers with your stay so that was a nice perk. Patio/balcony. Most of the rooms on our side of the building has a balcony. It was great weather so it was nice to sit outside drinking our coffee.
Parking. It was meter and 2 hr parking all around. But glad it was only from 9a-6p. The water pressure on the shower could be better but overall, great stay!
