Motel 6 Anaheim, CA - Maingate

There is that old expression that you get what you pay for and that expression holds true for this hotel. It was clean, functional and served its purpose. However it was extremely "basic". I enjoyed overall. This location performed as advertised.

It was extremely "basic" even for the standards of a MOTEL 6. For example there was no soap / shampoo. You had to ask for them and they provided you with single one-time use sample packages. There was no idea machine at this hotel, and on and on.

It was close to Disneyland and it had a swimming pool. A plus was the AC worked great.

First off, we were charged $22 a night for parking ($77 total). Secondly, our room was falling apart. We had a refrigerator that hardly kept cold & no microwave. The TV had no remote. The toilet paper holder fell off after first use.

The location was nice.

Bathroom faucets not working properly and shower, too. Stairs were broken and not fixed.

Clean, close to the parks and affordable.

They don't tell you that you are automaticly charged $30 for parking until you check out. Not disclosed at booking or on website.

It was a close walk to the park and I was able to see the fireworks from my room. I also loved that I was able to check in early

The room was dusty and there was still trash left from the previous occupants

Nice quick and fast reception was nice and where location is, perfect for walking to disney and back

The bed had some stains, on the sheets minor but still noticeable but everything else was fine

The staff were AMAZING! They made it feel like staying at Disney, without staying on the property. I have no complaints. Also the gift shop was really nice and had a ton of options! Cannot recommend it enough.

Everything else! The room was dirty and dusty, there were not enough towels, we requested more pillows that never came, the floors turned out feet black, they were also cracked and kept cutting our feet, the door looked like it had been kicked in and had a noticeable gap from the frame, the AC motor struggled to work, even after replugging it it, the internal filters were clean, but the vent was horribly dirty and dusty, the outlets did not work, which was a problem with how few were offered in the room, the phone on the wall was askew, the water pressure in the sink was non-existent, there was no door between the toilet/shower and the sink, but a door between the sink and room, which I understand is a stylistic choice, but made little sense and was very uncomfortable, we were on the first floor and heard a lot of ppl as they returned from the parks, and worst of all, the wifi was so bad, I could not even email myself that evening. If any work needs to be done, or wifi is important to you, this is definitely not the place as we were only offered a room further away from the 1 wifi tower located in the main lobby, which we were already very close to. Also, we were charged an early check-in fee, but noticed other people checking in at the same time were not charged the same fee.We stayed based on a YouTuber's recommendation, which the front desk staff knew of this youtuber, but it seems as though he was given better service or a better room. We are now not being given the money back from the property or Booking.com as they both claim the other one has the money and is refusing. With this being an OFF SEASON stay, I can not imagine what a stay during peak season would be like!

Random hairs throughout the room, bugs in the room, poor hot water, room not serviced. Room location right outside of lobby double doors was brutally loud.

Location was close to the park

Hot tub was out of service. Had to pay additional $24 per night to park my car (which was not stated when I rented the room online!!). Our room was supposed to be pool view and we were the only room with a wall outside our window

At check in we were given a room and told it faced the pool when in fact it faced the freeway. Not a big deal but on the first floor with kids I wasn’t comfortable with it. Also it smelled like smoke cuz people smoke in the parking lot in front of it. But they did immediately give us a new room on the 4th floor. Only bad thing was the power strip didn’t work well to charge devices

The rooms were roomy and the bathrooms had a lot of space. Location was great close enough to walk to Disney & the Garden walk. 7/11 was right around the corner for waters and snacks. Very convenient & for the price it was great.

The pool was not heated and the Jacuzzi was out of service.

The only thing that was positive is that this hotel was right by Disneyland.

My room didn’t have hot water the only 3 days I was there. I also couldn’t change rooms cause they were all sold out. The WiFi wouldn’t connect and my room had roaches. Thank god I check my bags when traveling before I bring anything in my house because a German roach decided to hitch a ride home with me. I’ve stayed here before and it’s never been this bad. I won’t be coming back, ever. When I complained about the water & told them I wasForced to take cold showers, the only thing they offered was to refund me my parking (Which I haven’t received yet).

I enjoy the location and room was very clean

The bathroom had a lot of mold on the walls near the shower that really grossed me out

Liked that it was right off the freeway

The lighting in bathroom and the fact that there was no door for the actual restroom.
