Pros +
- The front desk clerk was friendly and polite. The modern bathroom mirror with built-in controls was nifty.
- Location
- That the service desk took me to see the room first to make sure everything was working and met our expectations
Cons -
- Terrible experience. At one time, it was probably a nice hotel, but it has declined significantly since then.Three things we should have paid more attention to when we arrived:1. Big lighted sign over the entrance advertising weekly stays for $399 a week2. What was once a lovely dining room/ breakfast area off the check-in area is now a cluttered open storage area featuring cases of toilet paper stacked in the front window3. A group of guests (?) in the parking lot were working under the hood of a car. Noisy power tools and loud conversations were involved. No one stopped them. The rooms were of decent size, but in poor condition. The furniture was old and shabby; the chairs looked like well-worn refugees from the aforementioned dining room. The air-conditioner sounded like a jet engine taking off, very loud. The no-password Wifi was very unsecure. The bathroom sink was cracked throughout, and there was very little water pressure in the shower. Water from an unknown source was puddled on the sidewalk, under the stairs to the second floor. The black towels provided were very thin. There were no trash receptacles in the room. The room had a bad odor.Food from a previous guest was still in the refrigerator. A dirty pillowcase had been left outside our room door. The gentleman next door did not smoke in his room. He sat in a chair in the doorway of his room instead. His smoke was sucked into our nearby air conditioning unit.At 3:45 AM, very, very loud music, with a heavy bass line, started playing. People could be heard going up and down the walkway hollering at each other. It was as if there were no walls between us and the outside. The music went on for approximately 1/2 hour.------------Advertising and listings for the hotel should indicate that it is a low-rent boarding house, so guests will know it when they book. The hotel's website says it is under new management. I hope this is a recent change and they will improve things.
- Had to change room since heating system was broken.
- Parking was a little tight from the end where we stayed.
