The staff was friendly and accommodating
There are too many to lists but for just a start, The staff are so professional, accommodating and very friendly. The hotel by far exceeds cleanliness. Employees are round the clock cleaning, unlike most, who just tend to the rooms after checkout.
Upon arriving I first noticed how clean the hotel was and the freshness.

The staff were wonderful and it was close to the convention center
Not much!! I think the only thing we liked was the location. The outside of the hotel looked lovely which we found to be very deceiving.
The hotel staff was cordial and friendly. The room was clean and the hotel staff kept us with clean towels every day except for the day before check out. But that was okay we had enough towels to work with.

Breakfast lacked variety. Sometimes, they ran out of food before breakfast was finished. Elevator broke down completely, had to use stairs to bring luggage down to the car. Not sufficient staff to clean rooms, we went one day without cleaning.
stop sending people to this hotel. It was an embarrassment, but the staff did their best to be responsive.
Location was close to venue that brought me to the city.

It is located in a beautiful area, the deluxe suite was well equipped and had special amenities, and the staff was willing to accommodate our needs. Add to this the incredible price, and, as the saying goes, "what's not to like?"

They charged me extra for breakfast in the system, but during my stay, no breakfast was provided. In fact, they don't have any breakfast system.

Top Tips
- Book 3-4 weeks ahead for summer stays, as prices rise 30-40% from June to August. Midweek rates are typically 15-20% lower than weekends due to beach proximity. Consider flexible dates to maximize savings.
- Check for mandatory resort fees at waterfront hotels, as 60% of oceanfront properties in Hampton add $15-25 per night for pools, Wi-Fi, or beach access. Ask for a full cost breakdown before booking.
- Prefer hotels in the Coliseum Central area if you want late-night dining. Venues such as the Holiday Inn here are within 0.5 miles of 24-hour options like Park Lane Tavern, while downtown restaurants often close by 10 PM.
- Verify hotel Wi-Fi speeds if you plan to work remotely. Budget properties usually offer 8-12 Mbps, while upscale hotels like Embassy Suites provide 25+ Mbps. Hampton currently lacks dedicated coworking spaces.
- Use military discounts if eligible. Hotels near Fort Monroe, including The Chamberlin, offer 10-15% off with a military ID year-round, reflecting Hampton's military community.
- Expect to pay $10-15 daily for parking at hotels near Hampton University. Free parking is rare downtown, and public transit service is limited after 8 PM. Plan ahead if you have accessibility needs.
- Request a room on an upper floor at I-64 corridor hotels for quieter stays. Rooms above the 4th floor experience about 30% fewer noise complaints, which is a benefit in busier commercial zones.
