The roof top was amazing
The location is great if youre looking something near La Feria
The only thing that made up for this hotel was it's location. We won't stay at this hotel again otherwise. People looking at this hotel: please keep in mind this is a much much younger and rambunctious crowd that will stay here.

Top Tips
- Book airport-area hotels early, especially during trade fairs like Feria de León or weekends, as rooms fill quickly due to business travelers and delegations. Confirm your hotel's shuttle schedule in advance or pre-book a regulated airport taxi or private transfer from a reputable provider if you need airport transfer, since not all hotels run 24/7 shuttles. If your flight arrives after 22:00, contact your hotel directly to verify late shuttle hours. If arriving before standard check-in, ask about early check-in or luggage storage.
- Compare official airport transfer options before landing; at BJX, the official taxi counter is located just outside baggage claim for safe, fixed-fare service. Consider a hotel shuttle or pre-booked private transfer. Rideshares like Uber operate in León/Silao, but airport pickup points and rules change, so check your hotel’s current recommendation and compare estimated costs in your rideshare app before arrival.
- Bring Mexican pesos for taxis, small purchases, and tips, as pesos are preferred. Many hotels accept credit cards, but smaller properties may favor cash. ATMs are available inside the airport terminal; check ATM fees and exchange rates on arrival, since surcharges can vary. Inform your bank of your Mexico trip to avoid blocked cards. Tipping is usually done in pesos in the region.
- Expect to show ID and leave a deposit at hotel check-in: visitors use a passport, Mexican nationals show INE. Most hotels require a credit card imprint or cash deposit. Business travelers should request an electronic invoice (factura) at check-in for easier VAT processing, and have their RFC (tax ID) ready.
- Ask about local lodging taxes and final bill details, as hotels typically add 16% VAT and a 3% local lodging tax at checkout in Guanajuato. Confirm if taxes are included in the listed rate or added later to avoid unexpected charges.
- For reliable Wi-Fi during meetings, check Wi-Fi speed, backup connection options, in-room desk availability, and business center facilities before you book. Confirm early breakfast hours if you have an early flight.
- The hotel concierge can help arrange day trips with safe, licensed drivers to Guanajuato city (45-60 minutes), San Miguel de Allende (1.5-2 hours), leather markets, or factory outlets. Hotels often know reputable local leather shops in León and can organize shopping tours or tailored recommendations. Ask if English-speaking guides are available, especially for first-time visitors.
- Pack and plan for León/Silao’s high altitude (about 1,800 m or 5,900 ft). Stay hydrated the first day and take it easy if sensitive to altitude. Temperatures are variable and evenings can be cool; bring layered clothing and a reusable water bottle. The rainy season runs June-September, so request umbrellas or drying options from the hotel as needed.
- Restaurant tipping is typically 10-15% (15-20% in tourist or upscale spots). For hotel staff, bellhops and housekeeping receive about $15 to $45 MXN per bag or per day. Carry small bills for tipping, as change is often limited. Greet staff in Spanish (hola, buenos días); a few phrases go a long way.
- General safety is decent, but take precautions: avoid isolated streets at night and secure valuables in your room or the hotel safe. Most reputable hotels provide secure luggage storage. Note the emergency number 911 and keep embassy contacts handy.
- Typical drive times from BJX are 20-40 minutes to central León, 45-60 minutes to Guanajuato city, and 1.5-2 hours to San Miguel de Allende. Double-check expected travel times if visiting during busy festivals or rush hours, as traffic delays are common.
- If traveling with kids, ask about family-friendly amenities: cribs, extra beds, connecting rooms, pool hours, and lifeguard policies. Check if the hotel offers a kids’ menu, children’s activity area, or babysitting service, which are more common at higher-end properties. Confirm early breakfast or packed meals for early departures with children.
- For solo travelers, choose hotels with a 24-hour front desk, good safety reviews, and active lobby/common areas. Use hotel-arranged transport late at night and share your itinerary and hotel name with someone. Many hotels provide a WhatsApp number for quick guest support.
- Do not drink tap water; use bottled or filtered water (many hotels provide this in the room). As of 2024, there are no standard COVID entry requirements, but check updates before travel. Carry proof of vaccination if required by your insurer and note the hotel's nearest hospital.
- Request a smoking or non-smoking room in advance; most Mexican hotels are now non-smoking and some allow no smoking in any rooms. If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room on a higher floor and away from the highway or event/banquet areas.
- Ask about express laundry or ironing services and confirm prices and turnaround—top hotel chains may return items in 4-6 hours, but smaller properties often need until the next day. Verify early check-in, late check-out, or luggage storage options for late flights.
- Most airport and chain-hotel staff speak English, but smaller hotels may have limited English, so learn key Spanish phrases or download an offline translation app using hotel Wi-Fi. Provide your local contact number and request WhatsApp for communication if available.
- When paying by card, request charges in Mexican pesos to avoid poor Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) rates. If unsure, ask the hotel front desk to confirm the currency before authorizing payment. Keep receipts and check for foreign transaction fees with your bank.
- Focus on recent, specific guest reviews mentioning cleanliness, shuttle service, noise, and Wi-Fi. If several guests report the same issue, that’s a reliable indicator. Check Spanish-language review platforms in addition to international sites for localized feedback.
- Leverage local cultural or seasonal events: ask the hotel about Feria de León (Jan), Festival Internacional Cervantino (Oct, in Guanajuato), leather markets, and outlet events. Hotels often have discounted packages or advice for avoiding crowds. Book early, as occupancy and rates can rise quickly during festivals.
