Very nice setting with great beach. Dinner came up a little short, and left a little to be desired. The plate presentation was good to look at, but less look and more eat would be good. A day of walking and shopping leaves one a bit hungry!
Directly on the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. We were upgraded without asking to a beautiful ocean view room on the top floor.

The hotel was in a quiet area, near a beach but far enough from the main drag so that it was quiet.

Place was pretty clean. Liked the full kitchen --even had roaster and baking sheets. Microwave was a full size. Location is not near water but close to "town". Good heat supply and hot water seemed readily available.

Top Tips
- Book your Tofino hotel 3 to 6 months ahead for summer (July-August); early booking secures rates 20-30% lower than last-minute stays and avoids 50-100% price increases during peak whale-watching and beach event periods. Set rate alerts to track any limited seasonal flash sales.
- Budget for 15% total taxes and fees on Tofino hotel stays: 5% GST plus 8-10% accommodation tax, adding $20-50 CAD (approx. $15-37 USD) per night. Taxes are commonly excluded from initial rates, so request the full quote before confirming.
- If you plan remote work, ask hotels for Wi-Fi test results before booking. Most offer 10-50 Mbps downloads, but speeds vary by property. Properties with backup generators help maintain connectivity during Pacific winter storms.
- Request step-free or ramp access in advance since only 30-40% of Tofino hotels provide full step-free paths, mainly due to rugged site layouts. Waterfront accommodations are more likely to offer accessible rooms on the ground floor, so confirm layout and visual alarms if needed.
- Select accommodations within 500 m of Chesterman Beach for faster emergency response and a 15-25% reduction in black bear encounters compared to isolated forest-edge lodges, especially during autumn. Ask your hotel about recent wildlife notices.
- Withdraw cash at major bank ATMs such as Scotiabank or RBC to minimize 2-5% dynamic currency conversion fees. These average 2-4 CAD (approx. $1.50-$3 USD) per withdrawal versus up to 10 CAD (approx. $7.50 USD) at non-bank locations. Always decline DCC if prompted on the screen.
