Just the view. Negative reviews: Receptionist don't know what she doing while checking out..You have to check out everything: the iron, beach towels (they are very small towels) etc. The old pool burned our eyes but the infinity pool does not.
The ocean view

Nothing, the hotel is not located where they said they were. They are actually located on the other side of the country 4-5 hours away from Kingston airport.
The location is great as the beach is directly across the street A restaurant on site is nice but I found the service to be extremely slow

Top Tips
- Pick your area based on access and amenities. Seven Mile Beach hotels offer direct sand access and on-beach resort rooms, with distances from room to water often under 50 m. West End properties are perched on cliffs, so expect more steps and ocean views, plus quicker departures for snorkeling or boat tours, typically under 10 minutes to main sites. Verify if beach access or shuttle transfers are needed at your chosen property.
- Plan for a 90-120 minute transfer from Sangster International Airport (MBJ) to Negril (70-80 km). Private car transfers usually cost JMD 12,500-18,800 (about US$80–120) one-way. Shared shuttles are cheaper (from JMD 3,100, about US$20) but include longer wait times and multiple stops. Confirm pickup details and ask if your hotel provides a direct transfer option.
- Book at least 12 weeks ahead for high season (December to April), especially over Christmas, New Year, or carnival dates, as hotel rates can rise by 25-40%. For less competitive dates in that window, booking 4-8 weeks out secures more options. Confirm cancellation flexibility before finalizing your reservation.
- If continuous electricity or air conditioning is critical, confirm whether your hotel supplies backup generator power to guest rooms. Coverage varies, as some properties provide backup only for public areas or basic services, not in-room A/C or safes. Ask the front desk which specific amenities remain powered during outages.
- Check if a 10% service charge is included in your bill at hotels and restaurants. For table service, add 10-15% if not already applied. For porter service, typical tips are JMD 200-500 per bag (about US$1.50-3.50). Always request your itemized bill before leaving gratuity.
- Carry small JMD notes (Jamaican dollars) for local purchases. USD is accepted but often at a less favorable rate, costing 5-15% more. When using your card, decline dynamic currency conversion (DCC) at checkout to avoid extra fees.
- If remote work is planned, request your hotel's average measured Wi-Fi speeds for both download and upload (Mbps). Larger Seven Mile Beach resorts are more likely to offer stable connections, but speeds can vary widely by building and time of day. Confirm in-room access and ask about quiet hours for video calls.
- Beach chair and umbrella access policies differ. All-inclusive and major beachfront resorts typically provide them complimentary, while boutique properties may charge JMD 1,500-3,800 per day (about US$10-25). Ask at booking if your rate includes reserved seating or if a daily fee applies.
